30L Soft Square Step Trash Can - Brightroom™

This Brightroom trash can itself is fine … Fortunately, we received one that wasn’t scratched or dented upon delivery. However, it’s frustratingly difficult to find a trash bag that fits this 8 gallon (30 liter) trash can properly. The 8-gallon trash bags sold at Target were a terrible fit for this trash can, and they kept slipping down into the can, even when I tried tying the drawstring to make the bag fit more tightly around the rim of the trash can liner. The bags were much too short and wide for this long, slim, square-shaped trash can. And since this isn’t a SimpleHuman trash can, no one makes trash bags that custom-fit the can. I’ve tried ordering the SimpleHuman size G and H trash bags to see whether they might fit more snugly to this Brightroom trash can. Fingers crossed! Grade: B-

I really want to like this trash can. It's the perfect size for what I need and good quality. Unfortunately, the only one I found in the store had a few dings in it so I decided to have one shipped instead. It arrived just loose in the box without any protective packaging material and had 2 big dents in it. I called customer service an explained that it was damaged due to poor packaging and made arrangements for a replacement to be shipped -- which involved lugging the thing to UPS to return it. Well... The new one arrived and AGAIN was packed without any protective material and AGAIN dented! Not as bad as the first one, but still had a few small dents. What the heck is up with the shipping department at Target? Who trains these people? So now I'm stuck going through this whole process again. Don't buy this unless you find it in the store and it's in pristine shape. Otherwise, it's a good trashcan.

nice compact bin. would be a great value for money, except that it's sheer luck of the draw if you can get one that's not scratched or dented. expect to return a couple before you get one that's actually in new condition.

Really needed this garbage can and it looked great online. Picked it up and took it home to find many scratches and a big dent. Why this item was even on the shelf in this condition is beyond me

I never leave negative reviews, but Target, please stop the wasting my time! Just received the 2nd totally scratched and dented garbage bin. This one had definitely been returned by someone else based off the packaging. It was partially opened when I received. I’m sure the product is great, but I’ll be choosing a different option based on my experience.

Loved the look and style of these trash cans but each one (purchased 3) came boxed but completely scratched up. I usually see stainless steel items shipped with some sort of barrier film to protect them, but not these. What a shame.

I love this little trashcan! I say little because of its footprint, rather than how much it holds. I love that. It has one of the good old-fashioned hard plastic liners! I love that I can use this for my recycling without a bag, and then just dump it when it needs to be dumped. The nice hard plastic liner can easily be picked up, dumped out, cleaned if need be, and replaced. I love that this has a slow closing lid, so it’s not going to slam, it’s not gonna shove trashcan air out into that environment with a great rush. I love it so much that I bought a second one! I really wanted a split recycling and trash bin, however, I have not been able to find one made to this quality, and two of these take up approximately the same space and work oh so wonderfully! I cannot say enough good things about this trashcan. I am so impressed with its price tag as well.

Lovely mid-sized trash can. Does the job perfectly. Perfect size for those in apartments or who don't like to carry heavy bags of trash to the dumpster. It's the perfect size because it's not too big, not too small, so the trash doesn't end up too heavy or piling up. Kinda forces you to take out the trash more often, and I like that. It's also very sleek l, modern and stylish. And pedal to life the lid is so convenient.

This is a well-made bin with a small footprint and a tall, space-efficient design that works perfectly for me. It looks great, and I really appreciate the convenience of the foot pedal and the fact that the lid can stay open vertically when needed. For my own use, it’s a 5-star product. However, I rated it slightly lower to reflect how others might view it based on the liner fit. The product description says it fits most 8 gallon bags, but I used a 10 gallon liner that is 25 inches tall and even that barely reached the top of the bin. I imagine a smaller liner would hang awkwardly or fall short of the rim. That said, I liked the bin enough to come up with a solution: I used part of the cardboard packaging to elevate the inner container so the liner sits comfortably and overlaps the sides. I posted two pictures - one showing the liner without the elevation, and the second showing it with the fix applied (I also removed the cardboard from the lid, which is still visible in the first photo). As long as you are okay with this liner fit quirk, I think it is a 5 star bin all the way.

They should not sell damaged goods. This is not even an online delivery. It’s a drive up option.
