A: There is a tiny hole about the size of a dime in the back of the can. You are to press the excess bag through that hole until the top is tight at the top. I would do it from the outside over the back.

Buy 13 gallon bags for this
I really love the iTouchless 13 gallon Sensor Trashcan that is compact and square shaped. I’ve gone through two of their automatic lids over the past few years, and you can’t buy just the lid, of course, you have to buy a whole new trash can to replace it. I’ve already done this a couple times so it was time to just get a simple push pedal trash can instead of a battery powered automatic lid. This push can is a great price, has the same square shape that I need, but was sold as an 8 gallon can. I was afraid it’d be too small. Its not. It’s the same size trash can as the iTouchless Automatic 13 gallon, honestly. The plastic liner makes it a little more narrow, but a 13 gallon trash bag fits better in this Brightroom 8 gallon than the 8 gallon bags at Target. The 8 gallon bags are too small. This is a great step trash can that looks beautiful, and fits in my small kitchen. It holds a lot. Also it’s not true that you can’t close the lid because of the bag. You can absolutely tuck the plastic bag around the top of the liner bin and place it in the steel bin and have it look seamless. It just has to be a 13 gallon bag. Also get this can in-store. You won’t have to worry about it getting dents and scratches during delivery. Hope this info helps.

Does not fit 8 gal trash bags
Despite what it says in the description, does not fit most/any 8 gallon trash bags - they’re not nearly tall enough. Quality otherwise seems good, but returned due to not wanting to purchase oversized trash bags just to fit the height of this.

I love this trash can!
I've had this trash can for at least a year now and I love it! I keep it in our RV and our small dogs can no longer get in the trash. It has never fallen when we're bouncing down rough roads and it's literally gone coast to coast with us. The lid closes slowly and softly and we've had zero issues getting bags to fit. We use the small hole in the back to pull the bag tight and it doesn't fall and doesn't show (see photos). The lid can be opened with the foot pedal or you can open it by hand to lift it so it stays open while you're using it. The only negative is it scratches easily so I took a star for that. I saw another reviewer who said it bangs against the wall behind it if you have it too far back and it does, but in my opinion it is going to do that in order to open all of the way, so that's just a necessary evil for me.

Lid doesnt close. Dented/scratched.
The lid doesn’t close. Drive up delivered it to the car dented and scratched! No attempt to pick one that is not damaged. Now I have to return to the store and they don’t allow drive up returns, hence creating another task I don’t have time for. Not convenient!

Do not ship this item to your house
The item was not available in store so I needed it shipped. The trashcan did not come in a specialized box from Brightroom. The trashcan was placed in an oversized box where it got banged around until it showed up at my door. The trash can size is what I am looking for so it's annoying that I'll need return this item and look for it in store to avoid the scraps and dents. My low value and quality rating is based on the shipping with FedEx ruining the item for me. If it wasn't scraped and dented, it looks like it would be a great item.

I love this trash can. Before, I had a tiny trash can under the sink, and so this was a for sure upgrade. The bag liner makes it so you don’t have to stress about the bag falling down. The floor pedal is great for when my hands are full and also allows you to easily drop trash in without having to touch the trash can with your hands. The only cons with this trash can for me is that you can’t put the trash can against a wall without the lid hitting the wall every time you accidentally press the pedal too hard. Also, the lid on my trash can doesn’t close down completely. It stays a couple of inches open, which isn’t really that big of a deal, but I just wish it would close completely.
