Q: Are these shelves white on the bottom? I have older ones that are the particle board (wood) tone underneath and I want to use one at the top of a closet.

    Worst purchace ever!

    This item si absolutely horrible. The wood is very very very cheap. Every time I attempted screw the nail in the wood would split. Not one single nail screwed in successfully. I order 3 shelves and attempted to assemble two of them and I had the same results with both of them. The shelves are complete trash.
