New Formula is awful!

I have been using Colgate Total mouthwash for many years and always loved the peppermint flavor. Earlier this year they changed over to a 24 hour antibacterial protection formula. I tried it and hated it. It no longer tastes like peppermint. It has a strange chemically taste instead. Now that I can no longer find the old formula in the stores anymore, I will no longer be purchasing this product.

I have been using Colgate Total Toothpaste for maybe 20 years now, and I very rarely have cavities. However I typically use the store brand of mouthwashes but I decided to give this a try, as I have a lot of trust in Colgate Total. Unfortunately there is not a lot of mint flavor, but I think it still does a good job at making my mouth feel clean. But as another reviewer pointed out, it does kind of taste like black licorice rather than peppermint. And like another reviewer, I do experience a slight burn, but only if I swish for too long(more than 30 seconds) even though this is alcohol free. I’ll probably go back to buying the store brand, to be honest, since I don’t have any side effects from that.

Used to be my favorite, with a really nice peppermint flavor, but the new formula change is horrible. Now it burns and leaves my mouth dry and tastes nothing like it used to. I thought I was going crazy until I saw others with the same complaints.

salesperson located a bottle for me . did not notice it had been opened (plastic wrap was missing from cap) until after I got it home . would recommend an unopened one.

The new formula is gross and disappointing. Unfortunately I ordered a 3 pack that I will not use. The mouthwash leaves an awful taste in your mouth. My family has used this mouthwash for years but we will be looking for something else. Please bring back the old formula!

They changed the formula. Tastes just like Listerine. Absolutely horrible. Colgate says they use sugar substitutes or artificial & natural sweeteners to improve flavor. THE FLAVOR WAS FINE BEFORE! They ruined the flavor. They said all of their ingredients are backed by science and incorporated to keep me and my smile bright and healthy. SO WERE THE PREVIOUS INGREDIENTS! Nobody asked for this! Returning both bottles and switching to Crest.

New formulation adds sucralose and makes it taste terrible, don't know why you'd add a sugar derivative to an oral care prodcut

My mouth feels clean afterwards and it helps with bad breath. This is a great alcohol free mouthwash that doesn’t burn your mouth.

My family has used the peppermint flavor of Colgate Total mouthwash for years. We recently purchased several bottles with the new package design. Upon opening one, a change in flavor was immediately apparent. A check of the ingredients list confirmed my suspicion - the formulation now contains sucralose. Numerous studies indicate that this and similar artificial sweeteners can contribute to serious health conditions. My family do our best to avoid these ingredients, and it's disappointing to learn that we now need to change mouthwash brands.

It had a decent fresh breath timeframe, but it didn’t have me feeling a complete full mouth clean. I had cilantro and I could still slightly taste the cilantro after washing my mouth, which is not the case with my current wash.

It leaves your breath fresh, minty and also clears your sinuses. I will definitely purchase when I need more.

I used it more for gum pulling. I normally use SmarthMouth but if my normal isn't available, this product would be my next go to.

They say it was a design change but the new mouthwash tastes horrible. Idk what they did to it but I might move on to something else. I've bought this for years. Very disappointed.
