Disgusting smell
This product has a coating that emits a smell that makes people feel sick. And the food that came in contact with it was also contaminated with the same unpleasant smell. It made me want to throw up.

Coated with chemicals that are NOT FOOD SAFE
Figmint’s utensils are coated with chemicals that are NOT food safe. There is a tiny warning on the side of the packaging, and if you research the chemicals, you will find they should not ever be used on food utensils. It’s a cheap, toxic way to make the wood look good. There is also an easy-to-miss warning on Target’s online product page. Why is Target selling this?? I’m going to try the Hearth & Hand brand that does not have the chemical warning.

It Stinks so bad.
It stinks so bad when you use with something warm or heated. Also, coating is falling within 3-4 times of normal usage. I wonder if it's coating contains bad chemicals, or not heat resistant.

Not food safe
Trying to make safer choices and reduce the amount of plastic in our house, so I impulsively bought these wooden utensils. However - read the label - these are not food safe and there are a multitude of toxins from the wood stain. Every time you cook, a percentage of the literal poison from the wood stain is going into your food. Returned immediately.

Stain crumbles into food
Like basically everything I've gotten from figment, this are cheap and horrible. Within a few uses the stain is peeling off disturbingly (I guess in unknowingly ate it ughhh) and weird bubbles have appeared all over the wood that looks like mold. I babied these, only hand washed and dried. I've had dollar store bamboo spoons hold up better than these. They are absolutely gross and shouldn't be used in food.

I ordered 4 items :2 cookie sheets ,wooden spoon & blush. The box they were shipped in was HUGE with NO packing of any kind. The cookie sheets were scratched as well as the wooden spoon. Slightly more effort in packaging would prevent issues. Smaller box with a piece of crumpled paper would’ve done it.
