Q: It’s says waterproof can you take it in the shower with you

submitted by Cwarrior - 27 days ago
  • A: Hello! Yes, you can! The Bose SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) is IP67-rated, which means it’s fully waterproof and dustproof. It’s built to handle splashes, steam, and even brief submersion making it a great companion for shower tunes or poolside playlists. Just keep in mind that while it’s waterproof, it’s best not to expose it to high-pressure water or leave it submerged for extended periods. A Worthy Upgrade

I’ve had the first generation Micro since 2018. It’s been my go-to speaker for travel and its ruggedness has held up well, except for the strap breaking after 2 years of use. I had high expectations for this new generation, and after comparing the two, it has some pretty significant upgrades: 1. I really like the new strap. It’s easy to attach, holds well, and feels durable. 2. The new generation gets surprisingly loud. While the previous generation had a warm sound, this one is noticeably brighter and treble-forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if they used the same driver as the new SoundLink Plus. That being said, it sounds fantastic and clear. 3. It stands up by itself! I was surprised to see that the speaker can stand up vertically, which is a nice touch. It’s a little chunkier, and feels like it can take a tumble. Overall, I really appreciate the 2nd generation micro for its combination of portability, engineering, and most importantly sound quality. The brighter sound signature pairs well with my SoundLink Max, while being portable enough to bring anywhere.

Small but mighty

I had the first generation of the micro portable speaker but the 2nd generation is much better!! I love the fact that you can clip it on your bag. The sound is amazing as always. It’s small but mighty!! I use it in my car so I can listen to music from my phone and it sounds amazing and it’s small enough I can tuck it away while I’m parked and away from my car. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small compact speaker with great sound!!

Big sound in small, portable speaker

I have been using this speaker almost daily for over a month now and it has performed above and beyond my expectations. It is a small speaker but feels substantial - doesn't feel cheap or fragile. I actually dropped it on the pavement when I was using it outside at a tailgate and it didn't seem to phase it - not a scratch on it. The sound is high quality and it can get pretty loud with the volume turned up! It's easy to attach to chairs or can just lay on a flat surface. Overall I'm really happy - Bose didn't disappoint - another great product.

big sound from a little package

The Bose sound link speaker packs a big wallop in a small package. The sound is great and the volume more than other Bluetooth speakers I have used. The speaker's size and weight feel like it should deliver, and it does. I recommend this speaker; costly but worth it.

Great personal speaker

This speaker has worked well for me in all kinds of situations. I really like that there is an equalizer in the app that makes it sound even more amazing! Definitely a step up from the previous generation. Would recommend to any and everyone.

Great speaker

This speaker may be small but it works amazingly well. Ut is super simple to connect we have used it with different phones and tablets with no issues. It charges quickly and the battery lasts for days.

Better than ever!

I received my 2nd generation speaker and charged it right away. The sound is AMAZING and not just for a speaker this size. I have the first generation, and the sound on my 2nd generation is more dynamic. I found everything about this generation to be more impressive than the first generation. Since nothing is perfect, my only complaint is I would like the charging cable to be integrated somehow. But since there aren't any others like that, this is no inconvenience. If you're questioning the power because of the size, don't! Just get it. This speaker may be small, but the sound is mighty. Mine travels with me on every trip. I love having music when I get ready in the morning in hotrls or wherever. And it's easy to pack or carry. Even in a purse.

Tiny, tough, and great for Zoom/Teams

Bought the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) for travel and it’s turned into my everyday desk speaker too. For something that clips to a backpack, the sound is warm with legit bass and clear mids—music and podcasts both sound better than they should at this size. The silicone strap is clutch for showers, bike rides, and hotel rooms. Work bonus: I use it during video meetings and interviews as my speaker. Voices on Zoom/Teams come through crisp and natural, so it’s easier to catch details and not ask people to repeat themselves. It switches from music to a call instantly, and I usually keep my mic on my laptop/earbuds while the Micro handles the output—great combo for clarity. USB-C charging is convenient, and it shrugs off spills. Caveats: battery is a full workday, not a weekend; and at max volume the bass eases off and things flatten a bit. Still, if you want a tiny, tough speaker that travels well and also makes work calls easier to hear, this one hits the sweet spot.

Packs a punch!

So impressive! Rich, clean, crisp sound and lots of boomy bass for such a compact BT speaker! USB C charging. Could be even better with Magnetic charging and strap. I’ve been using this to jam with some tunes on the guitar. I’m able to attach this to just about anything. Portability is great! Small enough for your desk, bathroom etc. Pairs to just about anything BT! Use it with your Apple TV or Mini IPad for a movie bedside!

(no review title)

The Micro Gen 2 is strictly an upgrade. The sound quality, battery life and even the strap are better.

Bose is the Best

I bought the first generation years ago and was very pleased with the sound quality - and the second generation is definitely an improvement. I love Bose products, especially the Ultra Open Earbuds, but I enjoy the speaker for times when I am not using the earbuds. It is easy to carry with me from room to room - kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, or outside! The sound from 1st generation was good, but the second generation sound is even better.

Pound for Pound- Awesome Performance

The Micro has fantastic sound quality for its compact size. I have used other Bluetooth speakers for golf and camping and this packs the most performance per pound. Additionally, the battery life is quite impressive. I use other Bose products for less portable set-ups but the SoundLink Micro is a critical piece of my music arsenal.

Small, powerful, bold and beautiful!

Couldn’t wait for this to arrive! Kicks a punch for such a compact speaker! Great for all Bluetooth applications! As a guitarist of over 36 years I attach the speaker to my strap and jam along with my favorite tunes! Rugged, durable and don’t be afraid when it drops cause it keeps going strong. I use it for connecting to my Apple TV in a small bedroom space. It holds its own! Office space, deck, camper, backpack, candlelight dinners with your beautiful wife…

Very good for pricepoint

very good option if you're looking for an fairly priced speaker with good performance. Ive been using it for a few weeks but I wasn't expecting much because its pretty inexpensive compared to other models, but it actually surprised me a lot. The bass is really good even at lower volumes and on max volume its much louder than I expected. Ive used it outdoors at the beach, the pool and the park many times and I have no compliants with the sound outdoors. If youre looking for a nice sounding speaker on the go, this is a very viable option.

Great Speaker Around the House and On the Go!

This mini bluetooth speaker is GREAT for me around my apartment and on the go. My bathroom is far from my living room but this speaker makes listening to music in the shower and getting dressed super easy and convenient. The sound is incredible, and the bass is nicely calibrated, just like all other Bose products. I also took it on a short bike ride and it was like my own personal concert with me. I love it!

Powerful Little Thing!

I received this speaker as a gift. It's a powerful little thing! The sound is amazing with just the right amount of bass. It's compact, but don't let the size fool you!

Love the new version! USB-C for the win!

I previously owned the first generation and I am so glad with the improvements on this version. I love that it has USB-C since I travel a lot so I prefer to just keep the amount of cables down. I feel that the design is rugged enough to be thrown around in my bag while travelling. The best part is the fact I can use it in the shower or at the pool. I really like the size, however the only issue/recommendation I have is that the strap that it has is not always long enough for my purposes. I would love to be able to wrap it around the shower curtain rail or something like that. I also wish that the bottom of the speaker had a stand or something since I don’t like to lay it down. The sound is still good but I just lean it up against the shower wall or a bottle to get the best effect. I also have the Bose Soundlink Max, so when I am in the pool or party I love to connect them so that we have the same music coming from different sources. I love the seamless connection and I do have to say for such a small speak the noise quality is excellent. I listen to a range of music and love that you can change the EQ through the app. The app isn’t always my favourite to use but it makes it easy to connect. I think that this product is great, it is a bit bigger than my JBL waterproof speak and the noise quality is much better than my old Braven speaker. I really prefer to use this. If you’re on the fence, I really recommend this product especially if you travel or like to listen to music in “not-dry” conditions.

ROCK OUT IN THE SHOWER

THE SOUND!!!! I have come to expect a lot from Bose and the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) meets and even exceeds those expectations. I am a true music lover and have to have it around me at all times. And that's the one I most love about this unit - I can use it while in the shower. And the best part, there is no difference in sound quality when either wet or dry. Phenomenal, rich, and full sound ALL the time. It easily connects to any device without a hiccup and the battery life is out of this world. It is truly a great product. If I had to change one thing, it would be the strap. I am not a fan of it - I have the 1st Gen Micro and I feel like I can maneuver it a bit easier than the new strap. However, the new strap is longer than the original, so I feel that will come in handy when we're at the beach and want to attach it to an umbrella post.
