Gave as gift and espresso machine was nonfunctional
I gave this as a graduation gift and it didn’t work. It is pretty embarrassing to give a gift and the recipient has to ask for the receipt because the product was a piece of garbage.

Good while it lasts
I had two Barista Express machines fail after seven years of light use (one coffee on weekdays, two on weekends). Parts and service are essentially non‑existent here, even through authorized dealers, and repairability is a known issue with Breville. Nonetheless, I was satisfied while mine worked, but I chose another brand for my next machine.

Good machine, but not the same as my first Barist express.
This is my second Barista Express. The first one lasted 14 years. Then it started having problems with the timer pulling shots. Bought the new Barista Express, the pressure gauge does not work the same and the steam knob and hot water knob is very hard to turn. Other than that it still a good machine.

If you know coffee, do not buy.
Honestly I’m writing this as a pro barista who has worked only in the coffee industry; do not waste your money on this product. I was so excited to buy it because I read so many good reviews (I had to remind myself these were most likely good reviews from people who don’t know coffee). I bit the bullet and literally returned it because I could not dial in, and it literally takes SO long to steam/pull a good shot. It’s good if you’ve never worked in coffee but if you’re trying to fully learn or experience good coffee I’d say bite the bullet and pay for a commercial grade home machine.

This has been one of the most satisfying purchases I’ve ever made. We love drinking coffee, and to truly savor whole-bean coffee from the high mountains of my country, there is nothing better than a Breville machine. I love it!

Needs some improvements.
I have this machine and use it daily for few years.1) the water tank could be larger. 2) the coffee grinder dose auto stop has never worked. 3) machine asks to be cleaned very frequently. 4) i can never get the single wall filter basket to work.

Beautiful machine
We love our barista express! It looks stunning on the counter and produces high quality, very strong espresso. It does take a while to figure out, but after plenty of research and troubleshooting we were able to perfect it.

Slightly disappointed
The espresso machine works well but I am disappointed with the materials it is made from. I chose the one described as black stainless steel rather then the plain old stainless steel. Low and behold its not black stainless steel but plastic. I kept it am I am kinda sorry I did. Would of rather had the stainless steel.

Great coffee machine, difficult to cancel subscription
I bought an espresso machine for my friends and it came with coffee beans. Little did I know it's a subscription that I cannot cancel.

Great machine when it works
I’ve had this machine for 18 months and had issues along the way from having the steam wand stop working to now the grinder now longer works. I was able to get the past issues fixed but the grinder is not working. I have trouble shot everything I could to no avail. We upgraded to this model due to having a grinder, now I wish we would have just stayed with the previous machine.

Great Buy!
I have had this machine almost a year and a half. I never had a proper espresso machine before so I have been learning about the settings to improve my espresso shots. The manual has some really great tips and I highly recommend giving it a good read before and during the first couple uses. My only complaint is my machine is showing cracks along the edge of the top plastic in the top corner of the machine and I am a bit concerned about why that is happening. But it is not to the point of affecting the functionality of the machine.

Targe poor service!
I ordered this machine and it never arrived. I talked to several Target customer service agents and did Nothing about it! Although it is Targets driver who 'delivered' it, tha package was never received by the buyer. Poor service. They just said there is nothing that can do. It is an expensive machine and I got no help only to say we delivered it. What a scam!
