Q: Does it come with a filter replacement sensor?

  • A: It seems like this model doesn´t come with a filter replacement sensor. I bought this item last Feb 16 and just today Oct 21/2019 (just 8 months later), the electronic filter change indicator stopped from working. I'd like to known what should I do? Are maybe the batteries replaceble?

Q: Just wanted to confirm, you fill the reservoir 3 times and dump before consuming the water?

submitted by AH - 9 days ago
  • A: Hi there, and thanks for checking with us. With our UltraMax Dispenser, we recommend discarding the first dispenser of filtered water after installing a new filter, or using it to water plants (The 3 discards are for our pitchers). After that initial step, the water is ready to enjoy as usual. If you have any more questions, just call us at 800-242-7482. Wishing you the best! Jeffery from The Brita Team

Q: Does this filter out fluoride?

submitted by Jacob - 1 year ago
  • A: Jacob, we'd be happy to answer this for you. Or Brita Filters aren't designed to remove fluoride. Our blue Elite Filters don't remove fluoride from tap water, and our white Brita Standard Filters remove less than 5% of fluoride from tap water. We hope this helps. Monique from THe Brita Team

So this was purchased to replace an older brita model. To start it’s definitely thinner and taller than my original. Seems to hold less water also, but overall it works great. I appreciate the thinner model it opened up more space in the refrigerator. Not so crowded now. Looks good and the water is crisp and delicious. A++ love the upgraded filter too.

I bought this dispenser at the end of May 2025. Over the past few weeks, the spout has been leaking all over my fridge. I am very disappointed that this product failed after less than three months. It seems that at a minimum, if you know that the spout is a point of weakness, you should either fix your design OR offer replacement parts so that I do not have to try to figure out how to have safe drinking water in my last few weeks of pregnancy.

I really wanted to like this Ultramax 27-cup dispenser, but I’m very disappointed with the quality. The spout started leaking not long after I began using it, and now the bottom is cracking, which is also causing water to leak. I expected this product to last much longer, especially from a trusted brand.

    My Favorite Filtered Water Dispenser!

I recently got the Brita Ultra Max for my home and it’s honestly become a staple in our kitchen. Right off the bat, this thing holds a ton of water about 27 cups which means I only need to refill it every couple of days. That’s a huge win during busy work weeks. The setup was straightforward. Filling the reservoir and letting it filter through took just a few minutes, and once it was ready wow the water tasted noticeably smoother and cleaner than tap water. Not just less chlorine, but even ordinary mineral flavors seem muted now. The dispenser itself is impressively well built. The sturdy handle makes it easy to lift, and the strong spigot dispenses water cleanly with no drips or mess. I keep it on my counter and it doesn't feel oversized or cluttered. In fact, we use it so often that our refrigerator barely gets touched now especially when I’m grabbing water for coffee or cooking. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Brita Ultra Max for anyone who wants easy access to cleaner, better tasting drinking water especially in a household of two or more. It’s large, reliable, and really takes the hassle out of staying hydrated.

Love this! We have very hard water and while it is drinkable, it doesn’t taste good. Sending it thru the brita completely takes the bad flavor away. I also love this size since I typically drink out of a 40 oz cup. I’m able to fill my cup and still have plenty left over.

We picked up our first Brita UltraMax about three years ago, then grabbed a second one for the fridge a few months later. Since then, both have been running every single day without a hitch. It holds enough water to keep everyone happy without constantly refilling, which is a big win in our house. The spigot is super convenient and doesn’t leak or get stuck, even after daily use. The water tastes noticeably cleaner and smoother, and we’ve saved money compared to buying bottled water all the time. Filters are easy to swap out and don’t cost a fortune. I set a reminder on my phone every two months and it takes me less than a minute to pop a new one in. Plus, the slim design fits in the fridge perfectly without taking up all the space. Solid, reliable water dispenser for daily use, you really can’t go wrong with the UltraMax. Ours have held up like champs and kept us happily hydrated for years. Highly recommend.

I purchased this about a month ago, and the filter and the spigot are fine. My problem is, I need to move it forward to be able to dispense water. When I move it back, it makes the most horrible squeaking sound. I'm going to line the shelf of my fridge to see if it helps at all.
