submitted byBrita - 5 years agoBrand expertA: It seems like this model doesn´t come with a filter replacement sensor. I bought this item last Feb 16 and just today Oct 21/2019 (just 8 months later), the electronic filter change indicator stopped from working. I'd like to known what should I do? Are maybe the batteries replaceble?

Q: Does this filter out fluoride?
A: Jacob, we'd be happy to answer this for you. Or Brita Filters aren't designed to remove fluoride. Our blue Elite Filters don't remove fluoride from tap water, and our white Brita Standard Filters remove less than 5% of fluoride from tap water. We hope this helps. Monique from THe Brita Team

Q: How does the refill sensor work exactly? Is it run by battery power or something else?
A: Thanks for asking! The electronic indicator on our UltraMax Dispenser shown contains a nonreplaceable, sealed battery. The filter change indicator is activated when the lid is opened for 5-8 seconds and measures water use by counting the number of times the reservoir is filled.
