Looks pretty, but breaks quickly!
I love the way this coffee pot looks on my counter and it makes a great cup of coffee, for about 2-3 weeks before it breaks. I'm on my 2nd one, after much jumping through hoops to get a replacement, and this new one has already broken, too. They are poorly made and very fickle, and this is coming from someone who has had multiple Cuisinart coffee pots that have lasted 5-10 years each.

Good coffee-terrible finish work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plating chipping from coffee pot and bezel under grind basket. My mother in law has same unit and the chipped plating cut her hand. Make good coffee but after 8 months it looks 20 years old.

Lukewarm coffee
I hate this machine! I had it replaced once because the coffee comes out lukewarm and the new one did the same! I couldn’t imagine it was going to happen again so I threw out the box and now I’m stuck with it!

Beautiful coffee pot
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee maker is beautiful but a little difficult to figure out how to just get all of the settings right and just brew a pot of coffee. I wish it was just touch and go would be helpful

Pro's and cons, both sides
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro's It's a nice looking coffee pot, easy to fill the water, I like the settings to be able to brew different pot sizes and different temperatures. I just learned how much coffee flavor can be increased by brewing different roasts at different temperatures. Fairly easy to connect to the wi-fi app and use that. Con's , It broke within 4 months, and then took 5 weeks, 5 phone calls, talking to 11 different people in 4 departments, spending 92 minutes on the phone to get a replacement.

Poor quality after two short years
I have had this coffee make for TWO years. It matched my matte black appliances that I also purchased TWO yrs ago. The coffee make filter is ripped, the handle is peeling and paint is flaking off, there is a crack in the base. The carafe is also flaking and peeling. This product is suppose to be high end and it’s not! I am so disappointed in this, my range that has to be repaired and my microwave is ALSO peeling and flaking in the handle !!!! I am so disappointed in the brand Cafe

Didnt hit the mark
This coffee machine is aesthetically pleasing but I have some things I really don’t like about it. 1. After the two hours that it shuts off, you can’t turn it back on to keep the coffee warm without adding more water, this is a major flaw to me and 2. It makes a HUGE mess when brewing. Unless I’m doing something wrong the coffee “explodes” and it’s such a pain to clean up. Another major drawback
1 reply from GE Answers team - 2 months ago
We'd like to provide some information to help with the warming plate and coffee spills. The warming plate will stay on for 2 hours after the brew cycle ends. This coffee maker is designed to use only the amount of water for the number of cups selected to be brewed. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, clean, and odorless (free of chlorine and sulfur) water up to the max level indicator. Please don't overfill the water reservoir. Ensure the carafe is clean, empty, and the lid is locked. Make sure the carafe is in place before brewing. This coffee maker will not brew without the carafe in place. The top of the carafe must be engaged with the drip stop lever on the bottom of the brew basket. If not, the water won’t flow into the carafe and the basket may overflow during the brewing cycle. If the carafe is not in place when the brewing cycle is selected, the display will show “Err” and the coffee maker will chime.

Operates well
Was very happy with this coffee maker until about 5 months later. The stains have been difficult to get rid of. It’s a beautiful “white” until you see stains on the coffee pot and other parts. Not happy about that. Thats why i gave 3 stars. Nothing can clean or remove ugly stains. You never know til you buy. Very disappointed in such high end appliance company.

Maker itself, good. Coffee pot? Sucks.
So, I’ve had this now for about 2 years. Here is my honest review. I REALLY like the coffee maker. Not love though. lol. The carafe on the other hand SUCKS. The materials used to make this “pretty” are so subpar it’s ridiculous. I hand washed all parts and the handle STILL started chipping in under 6 months. It’s so bad now that I have to be careful how I pick it up because things (pieces of metal?) are starting to stick out. AND… to top that off, things are even chipping in-between where the coffee comes out and where the pot/lid goes. Noticed that when wiping everything down one day. ARE YOU LISTENING GE? I’d much rather have a coffee maker that I can put the carafe, lid and filter holder in the dishwasher than a carafe that I had to wash by hand and still looks like crap now. I mean… it looks BAD. The coffee maker itself is good! I love the fact that I can fill up the water and only brew what I need. Really like the gold setting! Love that it has wifi so we can use that on the weekends before getting out of bed. The controls are easy to use and it’s easy to program. JUST FIX THE DANG COFFEE POT!

Doesn’t make great coffee but is pretty
Almost gave it three stars just for the look, but that’s not why anyone buys a coffee machine. We buy coffee machines to make coffee. This coffee machine brews too quickly and the coffee is weak. We are also on our second machine. Our first one stopped working two months into having it. Unfortunately, we were told our warranty doesn’t start over…for a new product… Our first machine also didn’t get very hot. This new one seems to get hot.

We'd like to help offer tips for getting a better brew out of your coffee maker. This coffee maker is regulated for temperatures between 185 and 205° F. It is recommended to brew between 195 to 205° F for best flavor extraction. For altitudes over 5000 feet, use 185° F to prevent water from boiling. The type of coffee and freshness is a large factor in the flavor, taste and aroma of brewed coffee. The grind size of the coffee is for brewing using the drip method. You can view additional brewing tips on page 11 in the user manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--7AYSkUUx--/j9ps7cfsqfoecc02numn.pdf

Great features
I like the coffee pot a lot. I picked it because it was white and I changed everything in my kitchen, so I looked at this one watched some reviews. Some people liked it. Something didn’t the only thing that I didn’t like about it is that it doesn’t get the coffee very hot. I turned it up all the way and it is not very hot at all so that’s the downfall it needs to be hotter. I shouldn’t have to heat it up in the microwave. Other than that I love all the features.

Continuing Problems + Terrible Warrant Policy
In September 2024 I received a replacement of the same model after complaining of design flaws that caused the coffeemaker's basket to overflow every time I brewed coffee. It caused bitter tasting coffee, and requiring extensive cleaning of the basket, heat pad and stationary parts of the coffee maker, as well as my counter top on many occasions. Additionally, the screw-on lid to the carafe was very tight and very difficult to turn to remove or lock in. I was required to send photos and videos of the issues. This was during my warranty period and was told refunds were not permitted. My only remedy was a replacement of the same model. I inquired whether they had addressed these design issues and upgraded this model, and was told they had not. They also required they receive my malfunctioning coffee maker BEFORE they would ship the replacement. After some protest on my behalf, they did agree to ship and allow me to return once the new coffeemaker was received. The new coffeemaker immediately had the same grounds running over basket issues. The screw top to the carafe was now quite loose, but functioned just fine. I brew coffee every day, and 2 out of every 5 I must unplug the unit to lean it on it's side to clean out all the grounds from crevasses. Immediately after brewing I strain the coffee from the carafe into a large glass pitcher to reduce the grounds and bitter flavor caused by the grounds. I would not buy this coffeemaker again, and avoid future purchases from GE because of the labor intensive photo, video, and explanation pollcy just to get a replacement. It was time intensive and quite ridiculous. You treat every customer as though they are a criminal. Below is a box for uploading images/videos - it does not allow anything to be uploaded.

We're sorry to hear about the coffee maker overflowing. We'd like to help offer some troubleshooting tips that can prevent this from happening. We recommend the use of a minimum of a medium grind coffee. Any finer grind than that can lead to overflow of coffee grounds. We also recommend to use the provided scoop with a flush level of grounds. Heaping scoops can lead to too much grinds/coffee grounds and potentially cause overflows. We also suggest not using a paper filter and the mesh filter together.

Coffee is Barely Warm
Even at the highest temperature setting available, coffee is barely lukewarm. I haven’t had a hit cup of coffee since I bought this thing. The taste is good and after 12 months it still brews, but I need it to be hot! Also was never able to figure out how to keep warm after the 2 hour automatic shut off feature. Will be replacing with a different brand.
1 reply from GE Answers team - 4 months ago
Thank you for reaching out to share your experience with your coffeemaker. We do want to advise, while the glass carafe models do have a warming plate, you can't turn on the hot plate on these models. It will only come on during the brew cycle and will shut off after the 2 hours. This is built into the software and is normal operation. As to the issue with being unable to set the temperature, we encourage you to send us (GE Appliances) a private message on one of our social channels (Facebook, Instagram) with your contact information, model and serial numbers, and a copy of your review. -Vikki@GEAppliances
