Q: How do you clean this machine and does the ice stay frozen

A: There are 3 drain plugs in the rear to drain/flush. And no I do not believe it keeps ice frozen. I've had mine for a couple months now and the ice maker cycles often to replace melted ice.

A: I don't think so. Mine cycles regularly 24/7 as ice melts. I keep a bag in my (too small) freezer so I can turn the ice feature off if I want (it is pretty noizy).

A: Somewhat as it comes with a plastic bracket to screw it into the floor to keep it from falling over. How well that would deter a determined attacking Sumo kid is anyone's guess.

A: No but you have to push and hold the hot button for 3 at the same time as the big cup button. Once it starts flowing you can stop pushing the hot button. The hot trickles out ( 1 min to fill my mug)

Q: How long is the cord? Can this be used with an extension cord?

A: I can't measure but I'd say 6ft. Experts would say NO to extension cord. But they make extra heavy short 10ft or less extension cords for small ac units that work fine with only one device plugged in.

We bought this machine from target 2 months ago. Worst machine in the world. Sounds like a tractor driving up and down in the middle of the night and day. What a horrible company never recommend

Cold water is very nicely cold. Hot water is quite hot but comes out at a trickle (same on 2 units). It takes a full minute to fill my standard mug. Having ice is great but it is rather noizy like being in a machine shop. Ice seems to cycle at any hour I'm not sure why. I wish it had an uncooled water option as a drink in the middle of the night I don't want cold and refreshing to to keep me awake. One could mix with hot if desired. I've had it for 3 weeks so I can't really offer quality ratings but the taste issue in another review goes away so run some cycles at first to work that out.
