It shattered not functioning now.
I have only had this hair dryer since around March/April bought in store at Webster, NY. I was using it and it sounded like a snap and it got hot with a burn smell and shattered. Now you can hear the pieces moving around inside, yikes!

Bad paint - sticky surface
I have owned this hair dryer for almost 2 years. I am pleased with the operation of the unit, especially when used with the diffuser attachment. In the last 6 months the surface of the hair dryer has become sticky. I tried cleaning it with dawn dish soap and it was still sticky. I called Conair customer service and the representative had never heard of this issue. She recommended using a paste of baking soda and peroxide mixture and rubbing it on the surface. It did not help. I next tried goo gone residue remover and then later rubbing acohol. Neither of these solved the problem, though the rubbing acohol started to remove the paint. I researched this hair dryer and two other Conair 1875 watt hair dryers and found multiple reviews about either a sticky surface or paint flecks coming off. I wish Conair would resolve their paint issues because the hair dryer functions well and is affordable. I will continue shopping for a new hair dryer that will not have paint issues.

Taje a pass on this one!
I purchased this dryer in April 2024. A year and a half later as I was using it, it sounded like glass breaking inside. It startled me and something ceramic or glass inside just exploded and broke. You can hear all the broken pieces rattling around in there. A hairdryer should last at least a few years in my opinion it was not misused at all. Because of that happening, I cannot recommend you by this faulty product.

Sticky Surface
Outter surface becomes sticky. I have tried everything, from scrubbing it gently with a small amount of Dawn soap, and even wiping it with alcohol to see of the sickness goes away, and it does not.

Long lasting dryer
I owned this exact hair dryer for 9 years!! Nine! It has worked so well. It has cold and hot setting options and a cooling button. I really appreciate how well it worked for me. It did recently start going out so I am having to buy another. The only issues I experienced, outside of it breaking was the material of the dryer getting tacky so all the lint and hair would get stuck on the surface. I will be choosing a different blow dryer with a different finish instead.

burns out
this is second Conair hair dryer I've purchased in less than 2 years. Both of them shorted out with sparks coming out of it and burned up in less than a year.

Good hair dryer, but its surface gets sticky
I don't use any hair products when my hair is wet, so I'm not sure why strands of hair and dust have gotten glued all over the blue surface of my hair dryer. It looks like if it was a lint roller stick. I tried to clean it, but after using a clorox wipe, the blue color started coming off. Other than that, it does a good job drying my hair.

Lasted Less than year
The hair dryer last less than year and i did a warranty clai. They did send a replacment replacement but unfortunately it did the same thing as the previous one. The fan blades in-side the unit broke into shards.

My old dryer was a Conair as well. I was glad to see that I could get another that was very similar to my old dryer. The new one is a little smaller than my old one so it is actually easier to handle.

Not hot enough and terrible design
It doesn’t blow as hot or as hard as the old version. And the switch like buttons are in a terrible spot. You can’t properly hold the dryer without accidentally flipping the heat or power switch. Poor design.

I just bought this last week when my hair dryer broke. I had already thrown out the box before I started using the dryer. The watts are the same as my prior conair dryer but the power is not there. It isn't drying my hair like i thought it would be and takes longer to do so. I am now ordering a different kind since this is not working right.
