[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had such a fun time with this! I love doing creative and DIY projects so this was really exciting for me! I cannot wait to do some more projects with this Cricut Joy Xtra! I have already looked up some different designs I can do with the items I received, and I looked up some different materials to buy—so I definitely enjoyed it! I happened to have an extra plain white mug on hand so I used their Permanent Gold Vinyl to create a witty Christmas saying and a gift image. Once you get the hang of the Design Space App it is fairly easy to use. Much of it is trial and error. I appreciate that there are several steps and areas for you to see your design, specs, size, etc., before you are going to ‘Make It’ to try and limit any possible user errors—that’s GREAT! I used the app completely on my iPhone this time, but I do want to try on my laptop eventually. I watched some Cricut videos and the desktop version does look a bit more “user friendly” in its layout. The Cricut itself is fairly heavy and quite sturdy, so hopefully that will translate to it lasting quite some time because I want to use it for a long time! It isn’t too heavy, however, that you couldn’t just bring it over your friend’s house and do some crafting projects together. It also isn’t loud! Reminds me of a printer pretty much. One thing I do wish that came with the kit, were more detailed instructions on how to use the mats, what materials go with which mats, and that the new Smart Vinyls and whatnot don’t even need mats at all! Other than that, I’m excited to continue crafting with Cricut!

It’s a small machine but does so much, like cards, decals, menu designs and cut outs to name a few. I’ve made cards and menu designs for parties and will continue to use the machine!

Getting the machine set up and trying to get started on projects in the app is really frustrating. The app is buggy and slow. The set-up is not straightforward. It takes away from the joy.

AND you can do so much with this! I had the other cricut and made so many stuff, but with this one it comes with waterproof stickers that you can use to decorate/personalize your water bottle. I also use reusable bags a lot but they are usually boring))) as soon as i got it, you know i personalized my bag. Not only that, it’s so easy to use and so precise! You can’t beat this price
