Q: Has anyone used this grinder past the manufacturer's 18 month warranty period?

submitted by Daya - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes. Will require cleaning. The hopper rotates off. Good to brush clean and force air (blow vigorously) through the passages to remove fine particles which seem to clog the switch mechanism.

submitted byCheapGuy - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes- after 18 months the grinder broke. It has been cleaned and will not grind beans any longer

    submitted byMNJoel13 - 11 months ago
  • A: Yes, I've had it and use it a lot every day, past the 18 month mark and still works great. Have to clean it so it doesn't get clogged. Still works great,

submitted by Danaz - 9 years ago
  • A: I don't know how many volts but I don't believe it will work in Europe without an adapter.

submitted byjmn - 9 years ago
  • A: It is 120 volts. I don't think it will work in Europe.

submitted byRomeo Oscar - 9 years ago
  • A: with a voltage converter you could use it in Europe

submitted byAF - 1 year ago
  • A: It is 120v. There are voltage converters for appliances but I personally would buy the appliance in the country you're moving to.

  • A: The grind is fairly inconsistent and you will get a lot of fines.

submitted byThe Answer Man - 2 years ago
  • A: All of the settings on this grinder make "Fine" grounds. The coarse setting makes medium find grounds. If you want coarse grinds -- look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this machine.

Q: Does anyone know if this grinder grind coffee beans beyond the espresso size to the dust powder extra fine size needed to prepare like Turkish coffee or so?

submitted by Ptl - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, there is an extra fine setting for Turkish coffee.

submitted byRadiofan - 5 years ago
  • A: It does several different textures.

    submitted byGinaB2323 - 6 years ago

Q: Can you grind spices in this?

submitted by JA - 7 years ago
  • A: You could, but it wouldn't be easy to clean a specific spice out of it. I wouldn't use it for that purpose.

submitted byTCook - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, I suppose you could. It would be a little over powered for just regular kitchen use and much more work to clean out between spices. I use a small inexpensive grinder for spices, they usually are around $10.

submitted byclf - 7 years ago

Q: Just bought grinder. It grinds coffee really slow. Is this normal?

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 7 years ago
  • A: The setting in front is for the approximate number of cups of brewed coffee in ground coffee needed. The top setting is for how fine a grind you want. The finer the grind the slower it will grind because it brings the blades closer together. A more uniform grind speed can be achieved by keeping the bean hopper full so it always puts downward pressure on the beans to enter the grinding chamber. All that being said it should grind the beans at the same rate as any other comparable grinder. I've had mine for over a year and find it to be the best grinder for under $100. Hope that helps!

    submitted byPhil C - 7 years ago
  • A: You don't really want a grinder that is too fast. It builds up heat due to the speed and that can effect your beans.

submitted byclf - 7 years ago

Q: I just bought this grinder. There is a mark on the dial that selects Fine/Medium/Course. Is it supposed to be screwed all the way in so mark is about 9 o'clock or is it supposed to face you.

submitted by Sandcrab3 - 7 years ago
  • A: True the white line is your guide to the type of grind you want. Align with the dots on your grinder. Good luck.

submitted byNailima - 7 years ago
  • A: The white line indicates the desired grind. it varies from fine to coarse. just twist to the the dotted marks depending on how you want it ground. most coffee makers you would use the medium setting and fine form more espresso applications.

Why does it to spin so fast just to grind coffee beans? I like to take the right amount of beans out of my storage jar and grind them, that does not work well with this grinder. Several beans always fly around and never get ground and it's noisy. I'll continue using my hand grinder unless I'm preparing coffee for at least 2 or I'm too tired or injured to use it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grinder does a decent job, there is a good variation to the grind size. It's taking me a while to figure out how many beans to add to the hopper to get a certain amount of cups, that's a guessing game. It's also messy when emptying the grind chamber, the find grains stick to the plastic and some goes everywhere, quite the cleanup. But I'm getting better with it. So far, happy with it for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this on-line, and expected it to be the size of other grinders I've had. Nope, the box was big, and so was the grinder. But that's OK, it's all power, in a good-sized appliance. It grinds beautifully, easily adjustable to the coarseness of your choice. Noise? Of course, it's a grinder! Glad I bought this one, and I think it will give me years of great coffee; after which I'll look for another Cuisinart machine - they know how to make solid kitchen products.

Exactly Everything a Coffee Bean Grinder Should Be

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my grinder 3 weeks ago and I'm very pleased with it. My new favorite coffee comes in whole beans only, so I had to buy a grinder to get that good stuff into my cup. The grinder is easy to use and it's compact and modern-looking...very attractive, for a small appliance. I like that I can adjust the grind size (coarse to fine) to my exact preference. It's rather loud, but it is a metal blade whirring through fairly large dried beans, so that's understandable. I grind enough beans to fill my K-pod 2 or three times and don't notice any deterioration of the flavor after it has been in the hopper a day or two. Great purchase...I would recommend.

    Coffee Grinder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Previously, I had a Cuisinart blade grinder, which worked fine, but the inconsistent grind made me question how that affected my coffee. I decided it was time to invest in a better grinder. I reviewed several grinders and because I had previous experience with Cuisinart products and their good service, I purchasedCuisinart Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill. The grinder is a bit noisier, but it doesn't take that long to grind the coffee. I usually only grind enough coffee for a few days. I have been amazed at the quality of the taste, and I am not a big coffee drinker. I would suggest a first-time buyer start with this particular grinder, sorry, but from a cost standpoint, vs a blade grinder, it doesn't make sense to buy the blade grinder.
