The disk that holds the sugar came bent. So it wasn’t spinning at all at first and started smoking. I stopped it immediately and tried bending it back in place. It’s still not super straight, but it actually spins now. Once I got it to work, the kids loved it. It was easy to use! It would be great if I can get a replacement for the part that was bent though.

Cotton Candy Maker

After a little practice, grands were able to make terrific cotton candy. We found that plain white granulated sugar is easiest and works best. Very little mess and easy cleanup.

Fun for parties

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this at my nephew's 4th birthday party and it was a fun activity for the kids. This is a good quality home model if you only want to make small quantities at a time. Clean up is pretty easy as well.

Fire hazard

DANGEROUS! A class action lawsuit waiting to happen. It caught on fire the first time used at a school science fair...yes inside a school! Sugar easily falls through the gap where the heating element is and will catch on fire. There are exposed electrical wires in the same location, which significantly increases the risk of electrical fire. This product should be recalled immediately.
