Dash No-Drip Nonstick Belgian Waffle Maker - Graphite: Aluminum & Plastic, 1200W, Nonstick Surface, 99 sq in Grill Area

A: Hello! The Dash No-Drip Nonstick Belgian Waffle Maker uses a PTFE nonstick coating called TruGlide®, which is the same type of nonstick coating as the Teflon brand you may be more familiar with. Our nonstick does not contain the chemical Perfluorooctanoic acid, more commonly known as PFOA, which has been banned in the U.S. since 2006. PTFE is safe and meets FDA standards. All of our Dash products have undergone rigorous safety inspections and meet FDA standards, which are confirmed with 3rd party laboratory testing. We hope this helps! - Dash Team

A: The "Dash Team" appears to have gotten this answer wrong. The description for this unit clearly states that it has CERAMIC nonstick. Mod. #DNMWM40003. Box says CERAMIC NONSTICK on front, bottom left.

A: There IS an audible sound when the wafflemaker cmpletes the heating cycle, but it's only a click, and one cycle does not necessarily mean the waffles are done. some people may want the crisper.

A: Hello! Thank you for your interest in the Dash No Drip Waffle Maker. There is not a sound when the waffles are finished, the indicator light will turn green when the cooking surface is heated but because some people prefer softer waffles and some prefer them more crispy, there is not an exact time that the waffles are finished. A: Be honest, Dash. PTFE is NOT PFAS-free. PFOA is only 1 kind of PFA. After it was discontinued, many other PFAS were developed to replace it. But this unit does NOT have PTFE nonstick; it's ceramic!
