This is the worst Downy product I have ever purchased. Even using a very tiny amount of the softener, it leaves a film on the clothes. It also really caused residue in the dispenser on my washing machine. It just took me 30 minutes to clean it, after only using this product in 3 loads of laundry! It is a complete waste of money and I will be disposing it, rather than using. Very sad in today's economy. This product is not GENTLE as advertised! Not even worthy of one star, however can't submit without a rating.

We're disappointed to hear this. Due to the rigorous quality tests that Downy products have undergone, this isn't the experience we expect. Typically this can occur if the detergent has combined with the fabric softener. To prevent this, make sure the fabric softener is dosed in the fabric softener compartment of the dispensing drawer. HORRIBLE! If I could give it 0 stars I would! I have spots like this all over my clothes. I have tried everything to try and get the spots out and nothing! Over $300 in clothes ruined!

We're sorry to hear this happened, and we're happy to help! Any fabric softener can cause a greasy-like spot if it comes in direct contact with the fabric. Sometimes they may also look like wet spots on your garment or colored spots, but they’re not permanent. For small spots: Dampen spots with warm to hot water and rub with Ivory bar soap. Rinse and repeat if necessary, then launder as usual OR you can pre-treat spot with Dawn dish soap before washing. For large spots: Rewash with 2 capfuls of Liquid Tide Plus Bleach Alternative or Liquid Tide Original and the hottest water safe for the fabric. (Always use HE detergent in HE washers, non-HE detergent in standard top loader machines.) For further assistance, please give us a call when you can at 1-800-688-7638, M-F 9am-6pm EST.

I was highly unhappy with the fact that when this item arrived, about half of the liquid in the bottle had leaked out into the bag and all over the place as the bag did not contain the liquid. I have included pictures of the bag opened with most of the liquid drained out of it below.

It’s left my clothes extremely soft and more comfortable on my skin. The packaging is similar to any other fabric softener container. Ocean Mist is the only fragrance my family and I use since it doesn’t irritate our skin. If you use and love Downy and want a fabric softener that smells amazing; this is what you should grab. It good for up to 83 medium loads so it’s worth the cost. I’ll definitely be purchasing more once this runs out.

This product noticeably softened the fibers of the fabric I washed with it and helped to unshrink a sweater by softening it as well. I would just be careful how often I use it so I don’t degrade the fabric overtime.

I like the design on the bottle. Its really cute. The flower lid is great. I'd definitely buy this myself. Its worth the price. I like that it excluded heavy dyes and is recyclable.

I liked the scent straight from the bottle, but for some reason after I washed my clothes with it, they smelled like they were burnt. Once I dryed them they smelled okay again though!

I found the scent very strong and perfumey which I wasn't a big fan of. However it works as well as my usual Downy, and it doesn't turn me off from the brand completely.
