The ease of use and noninvasive nature of this type of thermometer was appealing, but this past week my boys both got sick and we put it to the test. The thermometer didn't once say they were febrile, yet we got to the doctor and both had significantly higher temperatures than it indicated less than 20 minutes before. I love the nasal suctioning device, but am regretting the money I spent on the thermometer at this point.

ZERO STARS—Defective product, dangerous readings, and poor customer service

I bought this for immediate curbside pickup because my kids were sick and it had a 4.8-star rating. It cost nearly $50, but it is completely unreliable. I repeatedly got highly inconsistent readings—including an impossible 93.7°F. I read the manual, verified it was in "human mode," and used brand-new batteries, but nothing helped. Later, I noticed a major red flag: a piece of another box was literally pasted over the original instructions on the packaging. When we finally saw our pediatrician, this thermometer read 100.9°F, while the doctor's professional equipment read 102.9°F. A 2-degree variance is incredibly dangerous when monitoring sick children. To make matters worse, the app denied my refund request. I wasted $50 on a faulty product that put my children's health at risk. Avoid at all costs.

Love this thermometer!

As long as you place this flush against the forehead, it reads the temperature in literal seconds. No more struggling to get an accurate temperature from my squirmy, sick children. Adding This to Our Sick Day Kit

I loved that it came with batteries already included because honestly, when you’re buying a thermometer, the last thing you want to think about is whether you have batteries at home. You want to be able to open it and use it right away, so I really appreciated that. I also love that it gives you a reading in just one second without having to touch your child, and the silent mode is going to be SO nice for those middle-of-the-night temperature checks. The screen is really easy to read, too. Such a simple thing, but definitely one of those products you’re glad to have on hand when you need it!

Went off of reviews but I must’ve got a lemon. Gave multiple readings and all were temperatures that are not even possible. Frustrating when finding that out when you get home to a sick child for the night
