The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean. It's engineered with the larger size, power, intelligence, and additional run time to deep clean larger spaces. It has a 25% wider cleaner head and 150% larger bin compared to the Dyson Gen5detect, as well as twice the run time. The Dyson Gen5outsize covers more floor with each pass and allows for more cleaning between bin emptying and charges. It intelligently optimizes suction power based on floor type and debris picked up.⁵ The LCD screen indicates when to keep cleaning an area and when to move on. Q: Is the HEPA filter really washable? to identify its the stand-up pleated cylindrical one that looks like paper. The similar filter on the Miele cordless isn't washable, so worth asking.

The performance is still a shock considering its size and of course the size helps with maneuverability around the house and up and down stairs, I would recommend to everyone it is great, also the laminate floor light up attachment still surprises me at how much it lights up the dust.

I would actually rate my Dyson Gen5detect Absolute 4.5 stars, but I can't. Bad bits first. It is really quite heavy: I have to keep changing arms and get quite tired. It doesn't clean very close to the edges. I can't find anything that tells me when to use the + or - on the red slider on the Digital Motorbar head. And I can't find a way to vacuum mats: they get sucked off the floor. Everything else is pretty fantastic. Not too noisy. Good suction. The Fluffy Optic head is my favourite. The green light is amazing. It shows up all the dust and debris on the floor that I didn't know was there. Warning: if you start using this head be prepared to keep vacuuming. Once I can see that dust I don't want to leave it! The battery life is phenomenal. On a hard floor it lasts for over 40 minutes. I generally run out of energy before it does. It is also easy to empty. I haven't had to wash the filters yet so can't comment on that. Really glad I bought this vacuum.

Absolutely the best dyson stick vac so far. Gets so much more ingrained dirt out than my v 10 ever did. My carpets have never looked better. The first few weeks have been a bit scary with how much it has gotten out of the carpet. We have a long haired black cat. Makes short work of his fur. Love tge on board built in crevice tool. Also a fan of on off switch. Trigger was an issue on v10 with my arthritic hands.

I Love the two batteries. I've owed two Dysons before and that was my only complaint. This new Dyson is much heavier and Im about worn out vacuuming my carpets. I've raised up the head and had to put it on EGo so it's a little easier. I just wish it was easier to vacuum carpets and it was lighter.

Brillant cleaner! Wonderful suction especially with dog hair! Shame it doesnt have an extra battery but it does do most of our house....which is great as there is a lot of floor. Love the green light ..oh my goodness such amount of dust can be seen!!!

My Dyson Gen 5 detect Absolute has a far better suction than my previous stick Dyson. I have found it a bit heavier but like been able to quickly change to the built-in dusting & crevice tool. It is great to see all the dust on the vinyl

I have a V11 at another property and very pleased with it - efficient cleaning, easy to maneuvre and light weight which is an important consideration as I get older, especially up and down stairs.A container for all the attachments would be useful. The built in border suction tool is a great improvement on the Gen5

We bought this to replace a new Dyson V8 that was a complete dud, not as good as our old V6 and was returned. The Gen5 is a really good vacuum. The only real downside is its size and weight. It is very heavy and more tiring to use but does a great job with advanced controls, capacity, run time and design.

Came with a defective bin that was stuck on. Dyson support sent a new one, but since the old one was unable to be removed the new bin was useless. When told Dyson support about this they tried to make me pay for a replacement main unit. I was eventually able to get them to give it to me for free, but I don’t feel I should have to fight for Dyson to honor their warranty. I have always bought Dyson in the past but this has made me a little hesitant to use them in the future.
