    Absolutely love my new Dyson Gen5. Excellent manoeuvrability and so easy to clean and use attachments. Love the attachment (for timber floors) with the green light that highlights dust/lint/dirt. Great suction. Vacuuming has never been so easy. Highly recommend

    Great all round performance.

    At this stage we are extremely happy with our Gen5detect Absolute vacuum. It performs very well, especially on our carpet where other vacuums have struggled. The Dyson EOFY sale was instrumental in making this purchase, as I don't think I would've gone ahead with the purchase at full price. I think the particle count is a bit gimmicky but may give peace of mind to those who suffer from allergies. You can certainly see how effectively it works when looking at the dust collection bin. The unit is a little heavy but not really noticeable when being used. Overall we're very happy with the unit and would recommend.

    Great improvements, but it is heavier

    Both this a few weeks ago. Great improvement in suction and battery life. The light on the power head also shows up well dirt we could not see. However, it is heavier and has a longer head that the previous models, so a little more challenging to move around. Also does not come with a flexible extender hose ( a must item in my books when trying to wiglle the even bigger heaed around corners, so we orered separately. Would I want the older model instead again based on the above? No, it is overall better, but I do wish the battery and suction technology would get lighter and shrink as it is a sizeable change from the previous model.

    Best vacuum I've had!

    The power on this stick vacuum is absolutely amazing. I have never had a vacuum manage to make our carpets look brand new again so easily. The vacuum runs just long enough to finish all our carpeted areas before needing a recharge. absolutely loving it.

    I’ve always wanted a Dyson

    Addictive!

    Purchased the Gen5Detect after owning the V10 for a couple of years, which I was fairly happy with. The Gen 5 Detect instantly showed up all of the invisible dust the old vacuum had been missing. This machine is extraordinary! I’m now addicted to vacuuming at night, in the dark! I use it on my couch, mattresses, and I don’t know how I lived without its powers! 😆 Yes, very happy with it so far. No regrets!

    Suction issue

    There isn't enough suction. If you use the BOOST mode it's good. I read that this damages the battery if used constantly

    Heavy

    I’ve been using it for a month now and it’s more heavy compared to other Dyson I had, also the suction switching from hard floor to carpet changes and it makes the head spin to stop

    Could be better

    We have had two Dyson vacuum cleaners and this one is the best to date, I just wish you could design a better hand piece. The head is now heavier and harder to manoeuvre, a better moulding for the hand which incorporates your index finger for better control may be better.

    Easy to push

    I bought this a few weeks ago mainly to do my rugs & carpeted areas as my old Vacum was hard on my back. I love the suction & being able to see what is coming out of the carpets. It is definitely easier to push around but I am finding it a bit top heavy but I suppose I will get used to that. I’m also a bit disappointed that I can’t get around all of the house on 1 battery I am in a standard 4 bed home. I do love the hard floor roller & light though that is amazing.

    Purchased a month the ago and it exceeds expectations.i thought my rugs and carpet were clean BUT the suction of the Dyson was incredible! Lightweight, stores easily and empties easily …highly recommend this system. Looks attractive, light is great at suction end and structure seems robust and it is simple enough for me to use..and I am an old lady!

    Expensive but worth it. A workhorse of a machine!

    For two weeks I have been living getting to using the new vacuum and appreciate HOW Much dirt, gravel, dog hair etc is off my floors every day versus my old non Dyson. Great ergonomics for my height (165cm) quieter than expected.

    This does suck (in a good way)!

    This does suck! I was dubious when I traded in my Dyson upright vacuum for this, that it would clean my floors as well. I am pleasantly surprised and happy. This is so much easier than carrying my upright around and dealing with the cord. I am glad I made the upgrade.
