Q: Do I have to pair the mug to a device?

A: Pairing your Mug with a device is totally optional and your Ember Mug will still keep your beverage warm without using the Ember App. By default the Mug will maintain its default temperature of 135F. If you wish to change the set temperature you will need to pair with a compatible device. That said, once you pair and set a custom temperature, your Mug will remember its last-set temperature from the Ember App. If you like it a few degrees hotter and don't want to use the app, you can pair once, set the desired temperature, and unpair or delete the app (or just ignore it). A: There are lids that can be purchased seperately for either the 14oz or 10oz mugs. By adding this accessory it will double the life of the battery.

Q: Does the charger come with an outlet plug for re-charging the battery? Or is it easy to replace the internal battery? Basically, how is the charger/battery kept charged?

A: Charging coaster comes w/ a power adapter cord which is region-appropriate. Since the internal battery is in the base of the mug itself they do not recommend replacing the battery.

Call it 3.5 stars maybe. I am still using it a few years after it was gifted to me, and like it for its purpose. Pros: • Keep consistent temperature very well. • Nice fit and finish, good construction. • Battery lasts a respectable amount of time. Cons: • The charger-to-mug connection is two spring-loaded metal pins. One of these failed on my first charging puck, so I had to buy a replacement. Two issues: the spring can fail, so your mug doesn't charge (my issue), and since they're solid, physical contacts, it's theoretically possible to short them out with a spill or sufficient condensation (I typically wiped any condensation off mine regularly to avoid this). Other charging setups for modern devices that may get wet typically have electromagnetic transfer. • Cost is up there considering the cons and the competition (which I won't name).

My husband won this at work. It’s fine if you like extremely hot coffee, but I prefer mine hot without being scorching, as I have a sensitive palate. I wish it offered lower heat settings than 120°F. If it kept a consistent 100 or even 110 it would be perfect!

I received my mug as a Christmas gift. Loved it so much that I bought one for my husband. Enjoy having perfect temp coffee to the last drop. HOWEVER, they no longer charge. Tried all the hints, tricks and hacks to nudge them into charging without success. Sad that they oi longer work. Short life given that they were gently cared for.

I got my mug for Christmas 2024, and I really like it. However, the charging disc quit working after 4 months due to a design or quality flaw. Ember replaced it for free, but the second one has now quit working for the same reason. I know 2 other people with Ember mugs, and they have had the same issue. I don’t recommend this product. At least not until they fix the issue with the charging disc. The product is too expensive to have this serious of a flaw

I won this mug at work so I was taxed on the value. It worked for a few months and now it doesn’t charge. I come into the office after it has supposedly been charging all night, open my app and it says “empty” and to charge it. For as much as these things cost, they really should work for much longer than a few months

Charging base stops working, Ember customer service is terrible and doesn’t publish all reviews. I have had 3 of these because they were gifts. The first one stopped working within the first year warranty so they replaced the base. The second one also stopped working within a year but again was replaced. The third stopped working again within a year BUT when I reached out to Embers customer service it took them 4 weeks to answer me and required me to send 6 emails before they answered. I emailed them before the warranty was up BUT since they didn’t answer me for 4 weeks they told me I was out of warranty. Despite the record of communication they refused to replace the item and eventually stopped answering me altogether. Absolute waste of money and they know their product is not quality. I tried to write a review on their website and they wouldn’t publish it. I rewrote the same review but with 4 stars and then they published it. Do not waste your money. It’s great when it works but it will die and they will not help you.

Do not buy. Stopped charging because of a known issue with one of the two pronges receding into the coaster. Contacted ember by phone, email and social media. They said that they would send a replacement charger months ago and haven’t and when I try to email them now the email gets sent back to me. I tried to call and it said “the Google voice subscriber you called is not accepting calls”. Seems very suspicious to me. Disappointed that a product this expensive with a known defect is continuing to be sold by Target.

I was given a damaged box. And on top of that a used piece of merchandise. Paid full purchase price and they did nothing to try to rectify the situation other than printing me out a return label and telling me to take it to a shipping and once they have the product, I'll get a refund. Sounds like a three week process to me and on top of that it was for my mom's birthday. good job target

At about 8 months the mugs ceramic coating started to bubble, I did not think much of it until it kept getting worse and worse, at that time I submit a claim. It took them 4 months to even give a reply and when they did, they said my warranty was up. They did offer to give another one at a "discount", but the discount is exactly the same price that anyone can find when it goes on sale. What a slap in the face! Upon researching, this is a known issue, very disappointed that they do not stand by their product, as everything else about it is great.
