Works is a plus. Giving two stars for the excessively loud hum from the motors. Maybe it's fine for a living or kitchen situation, but forget about a bedroom. Had to return for a refund, it's that loud.

Purchased in March, since we had a few days (like 3-4) of warm weather. We put the fan away after that and brought it back out just last night for it to die. It was noisier than usual before it's untimely demise. It did blow hair forward and back. Came with a remote and there was a noise when running. Poor value since it only lasted "about" a week.

If you aren't looking for something quiet, this works well and seems to be build well enough. I like the funtions and having a remote, but the motor is too loud for me. It's not the fan blades moving the air, but the motor itself has a loud, mid-range whine. Turning the fan speed up just added fan noise to the motor whine. It didn't matter if it was blowing in, out, circulating, on eco, nothing changed the whine. I'm trying to replace an old box fan that I think is too loud, but this was actually louder. I had the same problem with another brand from another store that looked just about the same. I suspect their insides are the same because it had the same problem. I don't know if I'll find a suitable replacement this year or if the market is flooded with this crap.

I went from being overheated and throwing off the blankets as the weather has gotten warmer, to being able to cuddle up in a blanket or two and sleep comfortably. This thing cools a room even in the heat of the afternoon and has so many different settings for throughout the day! Affordable and definitely recommend!

Nice fan, with lots of different settings, and for a good price. Noise / humming of the motors is the only downside. It is quite audible, and annoying to be honest. Our other fan of different brand had no motor noise, the only thing audible was air going in or out.

absolutely awful. I bought this today because I bought a similar fan in a different brand through Target a couple years ago and found myself and need of another fan. I am currently lying about 5 ft from the fan I cannot feel any air flow on high. The other brand you can feel even on low across the room and it moves the air much better for the same price. I wish they'd carry the Holmes fan again. this one is awful. as I'm lying here sweating I'm watching the clock waiting for the store to open so I can take this one back and get something else. Don't waste your money.

Very loud!!

I was a bit hesitant to buy at first, but after about of week of use I've been very happy with my purchase! I live in a small garage apartment, and my kitchen is connected to the living room. Anytime I cook the smell of whatever I cook would linger for a day or two, and with the kitchen being small, it has a tendency to get pretty hot after cooking for an extended time. After setting this up in my kitchen it has worked great at blowing out the hot air, along with the smell, while cooking, and being able to set the fans to pull cool fresh air at night helps me not run the A/C as often at night. I will say I HIGHLY recommend taking measurements of your windows before buying. It sits almost perfectly in my window, but there are small gaps at the sides and the top. You can apply some foam insulation tape along the top and bottom to get a better seal, which I plan on doing sometime soon. Besides that installation takes no time at all, which is great so in the event of rain you can very easily remove it from the window. I saw people mention the volume of the fans, but for me, even at the highest setting it's nowhere near as loud as a typical window unit, so I'm not sure if there may be quality control issues where some fans run louder than others. So far I'm really happy with my purchase, and will probably pick up another in the future to help cut down on using the A/C on good weather days.

Very loud electric motor noise right out of the box. its not the fan blades, the noise starts before they are spinning.

This barely made a 4 star review for me. I don’t care that it doesn’t come with the foam strip (I bought two), but there is definitely a noticeable gap that I will need foam to correct so it should come with it. The lack of a screen within the unit to prevent bugs from entering will be problematic enough especially if you ever turn it off without the additional gap to let them come in without any potential to get killed from the fan lol Fan speed: I’m satisfied. Comparable to a very old one I had and had to replace with these. The exhaust function seems equally as strong when I checked, which for us with no AC is important at certain times of the day. The ability to switch this function without having to remove and reverse the entire fan was the primary reason for purchasing this particular item, as it’s much harder to find even if you go higher in price. Noise: I feel this is no louder than my old window fan, without sacrificing fan speed. It’s a little quieter, but definitely much quieter than any of the cheap box fans I have. If quality is an important factor for you, I don’t think this item is for you. I saw some reviews noting flimsiness and I have to agree with that. Just from installing into my windows I’m wondering realistically how long these adjustable sides will last and how I’m going to remedy it if they tear or separate. The quality of the flexible plastic makes me concerned that sun exposure and temperature changes will cause them to harden over time and make them much more fragile, defeating the purpose of a “window” fan. The clips to hold the panels extended could definitely use an upgrade. Very frustrating how many times it would easily push back a notch or several while installing, especially on the bottom clips where they are not accessible any longer to adjust once it’s sitting in the window. It became a two person job for one person to hold the one side so it didn’t push in while the other extended the second side to finish installing. In the past I’ve sometimes had to remove my old window fans due to heavy fans, this will be a major inconvenience due to the difficulty of installing because of clips holding the panels extended and again, this will put further wear and tear on what seems to be the most fragile part of this item. This will serve the purpose I need, but if you don’t need an exhaust function or one that you don’t have to switch the fan around for, undoubtedly there are better options worth your money. I just hope that long term this item holds up.

Everything is satisfactory, with the exception of the actual airflow. I would greatly appreciate it if it were considerably stronger.

I bought two fans, they work great 👍. We enjoy all the features the fan offers. My favorite is the eight-hour timer setting. However, I have two, very minor dislikes: 1st, they are not whisper quite and are a bit loud. They deliver a loud humming, drone like motor sound for a small fan. We chose to adapt to the sound and it's not too bad anymore. 2nd, the LED lights on the display are bright white. Though they are tiny lights, they are bright even after they dim. I have to cover them at night. But they can be great if you don't mind a night light effect for dark rooms. As a whole they are great fans, especially if used in a window to bring in fresh air.

Thank you, great product, a solid build. Controls are nice and easy to undersatnd. The adjustables are nice for various window sizes. The only thing I would ask, is the product to have a littlre more power in its blowing abliities.

Read the reviews. Glad I ignored them. Many complaining it’s very noisy… drone noise… Best I can guess is either some are just put together bad or the reviews are wrong. For 29 bucks the air flow is good, the noise on high no worse than any other box fan. Even has a remote! I am very happy with the purchase.

I bought 3 of them. 2 out of the 3 stopped working within 5 minutes of the first use. The lights come on but the fan does not run. It reeked of a plastic smell and then just would not run anymore.

Overall the fan moves air well but the droning humming sound is so loud it can be heard over the pleasant fan white noise. The drone permeates even in a different room (over another fan!). The adjustable window screens are also flimsy and made for only small windows. I will be returning
