Great for golf, activity tracking not so much
All the features for golf are great. I was expecting that the watch would automatically track my runs and walks with a map and mileage, but it doesn't do that. Guess I'm going to have to keep my Oura ring for that feature. I think the sleep tracking is more accurate than Oura and I really like the morning summary to get me going in the morning. It's concise and accurate. The weather feature is also accurate. Great for golf but wish it did more to automatically track my other activities.

Good watch/GPS, as long as it works
Purchased for accurate yardages of GPS and the swing tempo for serious practice. Pros: The yardages are good, the graphics are great, the swing tempo functions flawlessly, feature packed with several available read outs. Cons: Have had a situation with the watch blacking out during a round. Shut it down then restarted and surprisingly it returned to the spot last noted. This is an odd, glitchy problem. Only happened once but Garmin should check this abnormality out. The other problem, is Garmin does not seem to respond to suggestions for the watch! On the website forum, several suggestions were noted, some of which are mine, and Garmin does not seem to respond?

Golf yes, hiking okay, Apple: NO
Have had the watch over a year and works fine for golf and is even decent for hiking but starting last winter, “Garmin Connect” has been a nightmare. I use an iPhone and didn’t have complaints until last winter (6+ months after buying the Approach S70). At first the Connect app would intermittently lose the ability to sync with the watch but now it’s a once only option where I have to go through a series of disconnecting and re-pairing. The killer here is that the S70 communicates all the golf data with that app, but not with the Connect app so I lose “workout” & health data!

Great sports watch
I did research to find the best watch to track my golf game and tracking laps during lap swimming and I assure you this is an excellent watch for these activities. I also am very happy with the Garmin Approach S70 tracking others activities like bike riding. I highly recommend the purchase of this watch!

I had an S62 and S70
I moved up from an S62 to the S70 it is a great improvement, I also have the club sensors , this is where the system needs improvement, it would help if as a player I understood how the distance numbers are correlated, why numbers make no sense. It also would help if I could erase all data for one club, most of the time the longest shot shown are an error. To me it looks as if if was progamed by someone who does not play and does not understand how a player would want to use the data in the real world. There also is a S62 page on Facebook where people are always asking for help , someone from Garmin should be monitoring this to help listen to the problems that people experience, when you had the update failure with the club recommendations failing these people know about before you did. The person that checks does not need to expose himself as a garmin person . Put you could get a lot of real world info

Love this watch!
I absolutely love this watch and have used it every time I play golf, as well as every day use. I feel lost without it. The features are great, the resolution is amazing, and I paired it with the Garmin CT10 club trackers. It has dramatically helped my game!

Love this watch!
I've owned this watch for about 2 months now and just love it. I also bought the sensors for my clubs and love them too. The watch and the sensors are both accurate with keeping golf records and the health features of the watch are also very accurate and helpful.

Features and battery life great
Had the watch for a month. I've used the GOLF GPS very accurate distances, I do not GOLF every week so the other strength is the battery (when not using GOLF)

All the Bells and Whistles
I had a Garmin Approach S20 for years and it worked well for a golf watch. I was given the opportunity to upgrade to the Garmin S70. At first I thought I didn't need all of the bells and whistles but I was wrong. I enjoy all the data the S70 offers. Some of my favorite features are the plays like distance, the built in caddie and the tempo training for irons and drivers! What would make the S70 better? A different color other than black and a tempo trainer for putting. I'm enjoying all the bells and whistles! Great watch!

Love everything about the watch. The included band was a little shorter than I wanted. But after finding the right band can’t believe I went this long without this watch. Absolutely love it

Difficult to understand how to use
I am still trying to figure out how to use this watch. When I workout the watch alerts that my heart rate is high. Needs a better set of instructions.

Great Upgrade
I have had the S70 for about 3 weeks now and it is great. Upgraded from the S62. Battery life is a game changer, the graphics are clearer, and the function are wonderful. If you are on the fence about buying it, don't wait.

There's things I liked better about the S62
I've had the S62 for the past couple of years. There's things that I like about the S70, for sure. But I really don't like the one feature about the S70 (I think the S62 was better). When I've completed a hole, the S62 had you enter the number of strokes, number of putts, and number of penalty strokes. The S70 has added another screen to indicate if I'd hit the fairway or missed to the left or right. I don't like this extra screen on the S70. I own the CT10 sensors so I already get this information logged automatically. This seems like a waste of time to have to enter this information each time I've finished a hole. If there's a way to disable this screen then I'd be all over that.

Some positive and some negative
I like the Find my phone option. Don’t like the scoring process. When I get a text on my phone I don’t on my watch even though the setting is accurate. I prefer my old S62 but they discontinued it.
