Great Support for Any Activity

I am extremely happy with this watch's size and functions. I was unsure what size to buy but at 5'-11", 170 lbs. I was concerned that the bigger watches would feel and look cumbersome. I am glad I chose the 42mm as it looks normal (approriate) on my 7-1/4" wrist. The watch is very easy to get started but as expected overwhelming, confusing and at times frustrating to operate and explore various activities and functions. Don't let that disuade you. I suggest picking out one thing at a time to learn based on your individual needs and desires. I downloaded the support center index of topics and user manual, both of which are very helpful and well written by topic with step by step instructions. Garmin has done a great job with their support documents. Although the button functions seem intuitive, the sequence of operation is still confusing with many false clicks. I will not use the screen swipe methods until thoroughly learning the sequence of steps to accomplish basic settings. I started with customiizing Glances which are very useful quick references. The Morning Report is a interesting function but I don't yet know what all its reports mean. I followed by customizing the activities selection sequence to apps that I use most. For example, during workouts I have my heartrate on the first click from the menu button. Customizing each app and display will take time. All settings are extremely customizable. Using the "Hiking" app I learned to customize the various display screens with multiple data views on each several but the compass is on a screen by itself. I have synced Alltrails maps and started customizing Navigation and it has loaded all my saved maps. Have not tried actual map tracking yet. Default settings are all pretty good but the beauty of the device is the ability to customized to individual needs. This is also just a great looking watch; there are scores of watch face options. I most appreciate that this watch has the ability to evolve with me over time in data detailing and personalization. You will both enjoy this watch from the start and as you work with it over time. Don't get frustrated.

The epix Pro (Gen 2) is a powerhouse. It’s not just a smartwatch. it’s a full-on adventure companion. If you’re serious about fitness, outdoor exploration, or just want a premium wearable that doesn’t cut corners, this is it. After spending time with the Garmin epix, I can confidently say it's one of the most impressive smartwatches I've ever used, this watch delivers on nearly every front. The AMOLED display is absolutely stunning—bright, crisp, and easy to read in any lighting. I went with the [insert size: 42mm/47mm/51mm], and it feels solid yet comfortable on the wrist. The build quality is premium, especially with the titanium bezel and sapphire crystal option. Garmin packed this thing with features: Heart rate, sleep, stress, and respiration tracking are all incredibly accurate. The new Endurance Score and Hill Score give deeper insights into my training. GPS performance is top-notch thanks to multiband GNSS perfect for trail runs and hikes. The built-in LED flashlight is surprisingly useful. I’ve used it during early morning runs and even as a backup light while camping. It’s one of those features you didn’t know you needed until you have it.

Been using it for about a year now and comparing it to the Fenix 8 lineup. The Epix is still better IMO because of the UI. The Epix keeps the simple experience without adding all the fluff. I describe it to others that Fenix 8 is a Garmin trying to be like an Apple Wartch while the Epix is the last line up that is truly Garmin pure bred. My favorite feature that is the watch face is truly customizable on the Epix. The new line up only has pre-made faces that can barely be customized. My only complaint is that when in red shift mode the UI is slower while navigating around the watch.

Great durable watch. Bluetooth goes in and out. HR on wrist is way off when weight training. Not worth the money.

I bought this so I can keep track of my heart rate during my workouts, and found the accuracy is pretty spot on when I compared to results from fitness testing. I found that since I already used the vivoactive 5 that moving up to the epix was easy to use.

I bought this a month ago and I’ve only needed to charge it 2 times since I opened the box. The tracking metrics are super detailed and seem more accurate than my last Apple Watch. Also being active, there does not even look to be a scratch on the watch, still looks new.

For the money, i would have expected to be able to type a response to a text message on the watch. Altimeter will sometimes show very different things. I live 30' above sea level and it will frequently tell me im -21'

I had been hesitant to purchase a Smart Watch for quite a few years now, and trying to decide between Garmin, or a more modestly priced Android watch with calls/texts. I am fairly active between Mountain Biking, and HIIT training at the gym, and had been tracking all my activity without heart monitoring via Strava. I'm stoked I ended up picking up the Epix. I was on the hunt for a Fenix 7 for some time, but they were not available, and Epix fit the bill (I don't think I could have gone wrong with either option). The 47mm fit is great. I founded the 51mm too bulky for my wrest. I got used to the weight factor after about 2 weeks of continuous wear (the Forerunner is a bit lighter weight feeling). Heart monitoring, stress, sleep, ride, and workout tracking are fantastic, with useful analysis, and seamless syncing with Strava. Pulling my maps and routes from Strava to navigate from the watch is easy. The most time consuming setup is customizing a billion options of data screens (but out of the box defaults are plenty great). I did buy a screen protector thankfully, which saved the watch face from a kettlebell, which smashed the screen protector, but protected the glass beneath. Navigation on the go is helpful. Not as detailed and easy to follow as the full blown Garmin bike computer. However, the vibrating turn by turn directions, Climb Pro, and Heart rate zones for long uphill slogs are perfect. Then of course, the GPS for those downhill PRs are super accurate! The communication features are useful, such as daily reports of rest and training readiness, sleep score, incoming texts, phone calls, and other notifications (via Bluetooth from my Android phone). My only gripes are that I am having difficulty figuring out how to disable constant barometer and altitude meter, which are battery hogs (even after reading the support page). I am guessing this is more user error than a Garmin issue. And also not being able to track my V02 (an important metric I'd like to use) without purchasing a power meter for my pedals. Heart rate monitor can also be stop tracking while bouncing downhill through the janky stuff, but it's not a big deal, and I don't feel compelled to buy the optional chest-strap heart monitor. The initial purchase cost definitely took some saving, but I love that there are no costly monthly subscriptions required. Cost was one and one. Overall I'm stoked on this watch, and hope it serves me well for some time to come!

I purchased this watch a few weeks ago and it's been working well so far. I haven't used a Garmin product in about 10 years and my former Garmin product was no way near this sophisticated. I'm still learning how to use all of the features, and I don't understand the body battery at all, but that doesn't seem to be an uncommon sentiment. I like the size of the watch face. I'm glad I didn't go any larger, the battery life has been great so far. I easily get a week with standard wear. The buttons have been easy to use and have not been getting pressed accidentally when I flex my hand, which is nice. I haven't downloaded any maps yet or explored how that may work. Overall, I really like what I have used so far, which is probably about 25% of the watch's featuers.

I had wanted to replace my Garmin 935 which I had for several years. The Epix pro has exceeded my expectations, the battery life +30 days is true. The additional flashlight and multiple weather cities is an added bonus. Will continue to enjoy my new watch for years to come.
