The features are good, but it disconnects from my phone often. The Vivosmart 4 was much better at maintaining connection to my phone.

It does not seem to be a good quality watch once received in person. I guess I will find out if it really is good quality after using it for a while!

It was time to upgrade (1 level)

For years I wore Garmin vivofit 3 & 4, and while their batteries lasted, it was all the technology I needed in a fitness tracker. The trouble is that it was impossible to get the cases opened to change the batteries when the time came. So I would just buy another one. Finally there were no vivofit 4's available, so I bit the bullet and ordered the vivosmart 5. I've been wearing it now for 2 weeks, and am happy with my purchase; again, I don't need too much technology, so this was a smart choice for me. Besides, I have very small wrists, so a bigger, more robust model is too hard to wear. It was easy to set up, and learn some of the features that my previous model didn't have. Since I was already a Garmin user, I had my Garmin Connect app already set up, and when I paired my vivosmart 5 the old selections stayed in place and the new features populated pretty easily. And, since it's rechargeable, I expect I'll have it more than a year. Note I did buy some additional bands as you see in this picture.

I bought this watch to replace my Vivosmart 4 because the band broke. Unlike the 4 you can replace the band on the 5, a plus because I gone through two 4s just because of the band. The 5 has some new features and the larger face makes it easier to read. Overall it is an improvement.

Bought to replace Viviosmart 4, whose band broke off. The screen on the 5 is much more visible, but I am having two major problems that searching all the support info is not helping the floors:elevation doesn’t’t work. I have tried all the suggestions. Second problem is I could synch my 4 on either my phone or tablet. I can’t get both recognized on the 5. My tablet search’s and never finds the 5. Totally frustrated and unhappy.

The display is too little. If I wanted to know what time it is during the night (or any time), I don't want to have to put my glasses on to do so! I am also disappointed that my Continuous Glucose Monitor ses to connect to my watch, but it doesn't show what my level is at.

Great features and good information

I've had my watch for almost a month now. I really like how much more information it gives me than my old Fitbits did. Fitbit could have told me more, but only with a monthly subscription. I bought the Garmin and really appreciate the range and depth of useful information including explanations of what the stats mean and what you can do to improve. My only criticism so far regards stress. It is very difficult to distinguish the various levels of stress in the graphs since three of the four are depicted in different shades of orange. Different colors would be MUCH better. Also, it seems that every time I take a break to lower my stress, my watch says my stress is unmeasurable for that period. I would have expected it would show that as a rest period. What's up with that?

I use this to track fitness and heart rate throughout the day. mostly for steps and such. it works well and the battery lasts a full week with each charge. for the price, ilIm very glad I got this over a fitbit. this is a great option for those who are wanting their first fitness tracker. next time Id prefer to pay a little more and get a built in gos for when I run.

I'm 56 yr old fat guy, who finally took the plunge for a smart watch. Real quick, this one is simple to use and stays charged. I've charged it twice in 11 days. It's accurate on steps and heart rate for me. Close enough. Sleep stuff is cool but for me the purpose is to remind me to move and having it on my wrist ( I didn't wear watches regularly before this) I'm starting. to develop real life changing habits. That's important with my office job, where I'll sit 4 hours straight if I get zoned in on analysis. Now, I work to keep up on my hydration which leads to more bathroom which leads to taking hf a few laps around the office which leads to lower stress and all the other good aspects of movement. It's simple to use and accurate. It can do plenty more than I care for, but not overwhelming I connected it easily to my work Health Rewards plan. It you can do typical phone apps, you can handle this.

Fitness Tracker Minimum

This was my first fitness tracker/smartwatch and I've been using the same unit for almost two years now. While it does deliver relatively insightful sleep data and pretty reliable hear rate monitoring in various scenarios, the battery life started degrading almost completely and for over a year I've been at the point where if I don't charge the tracker on my 45-minute work commute in the morning DAILY, it will die at some point throughout the day. The Connect app is also pretty limited in the information it delivers. I don't use the cycling activity trackers when I'm riding my bikes because the GPS seems to get inaccurate when I'm moving quickly. It does the basics of a fitness tracker well, but you will likely quickly start thinking about upgrading this product.

Non-intuitive interface, but it's growing on me...

First, the bad: My eyes are 67 years old, so I can't read the screen without reading glasses. I'm a human male, so I don't read instructions, and the interface is not intuitive to me. But it still seems absurdly difficult to start and stop a bicycle ride activity. The syncing with the phone app requires interaction on both phone and watch, and it seems a struggle to get through the screens and close the ride. At one point, I almost made an emergency call instead. The battery wears down pretty fast when using the night-time O2 sat monitoring function. The good: The functions I use seem accurate, and with reading glasses, the B/W screen is easily readable despite the tiny screen size. It charges quite quickly. I've not worn any watch in years, so while it took getting used to, it's fairly comfortable. I like the motion-activated screen on/off function. Summary - I'm a grouchy old guy, but I like it OK.

Strap too bulky

Can't see features on the watch very well. The strap is too bulky making it uncomfortable to wear all the time especially when writing since I wear it on my dominant wrist. I prefer my galaxy watch over this one.
