Turned gray hairs green
Just awful. I bought this in a pinch to cover my grays and all it did was turn them green. I will never buy this brand again.

Hello Eleslie3! We are incredibly sorry to hear about the disappointing result you experienced with our Deep Soft Black shade. Seeing an unexpected green tone is definitely not the outcome we want for you, and we understand how frustrating that can be. This can sometimes occur if the hair has been previously treated or if there is a significant amount of light or gray hair that lacks the necessary warm underlying pigments to support a deep black tone. To help correct this and achieve a more natural-looking black, it often requires adding a bit of warmth back into the hair to neutralize those cool, ashy undertones. We truly value your feedback, and while we understand your hesitation to try us again, we appreciate you letting us know so we can continue to refine our color guidance for achieving full gray coverage.

New Packaging + New Formulary = Green Roots
I have used 200- Deep Soft Black for years. I always buy several boxes at one time. About eight or nine months ago, I noticed the packaging changed along with the formulary. After coloring my hair, my roots turned green. It was awful. Since I used this color for so long, I searched around to find the old packaging so I could buy the old formulation of the 200 - Deep Soft Black. Now, I'm stuck with boxes of the new formulary that I will never use because I turned my roots green.

Excellent
Was very easy to use. The color was perfect for me a rich medium brown. I used it just for the part that was white completely and it covered very well.

Colr not as advertised
This is not rocket science but it appears it is to get what you pay for. This made my hair reddish medium brown. Aside from letting it fade, I am not sure how to correct it. Why can't you make a color that turns out the way it shows on the box. The results are extremely disappointing.

Something has changed
I have been using Garnier hair color for 20 years and changed over to the Ultra Coverage about 6 orn8.months ago due to stubborn grays. They have changed the look.of the box and labeling and I'm wondering what they changed about the hair color itself. I colored my hair last week with number 500. First thing I noticed is that its harder to squeeze out, it seems like the cream has gotten thicker. I left it on the 25 minutes and rinsed with cold water, like always. Once it dried I noticed my hair was darker than normal. I waited 3 days to wash my hair with my color treated shampoo. The water that was running off my hair was brown. I thought ok this has never happened before but maybe it was so dark some was washing out. I washed my hair again tonight, 3 nights later, and its still running brown. I don't wash my hair in hot water and use cool water to rinse. I've never had my color run in all the years of using this brand. I don't know what has changed but I'm afraid after all these years I may need to find a different brand of color.

Please go back to the original formula!
I have used this very same color for well over 5 years now. Not only has the Box recently changed but the formula as well. The cream is now much thicker and very hard to get out of the bottle. It actually hurts my hand to squeeze and I have to use both hands now. It's very difficult to get the color evenly over my roots and it makes a big mess. I have never had this trouble before with this product . I could overlook this if it wasn't the fact that the color is completely different. Now it's much darker and has a lot of red in it and it's completely different than the rest of my hair. My mom even noticed a change and asked me why I was suddenly going red and I told her I sure didn't mean to!! I recently stocked up on several boxes and now I need to return them and find a new hair color to use.

Unhappy :(
I have been using this shade for a very long time & loved it. Just retouched my roots with the new version & as other posters have commented it turned my roots a copperish red! I hate it. How can I correct it? I will not be using this shade ever again.

Just used the new formula—buyer beware
This new formula turned my roots copper. Why do you keep screwing with a formula that worked perfectly? I’ve used this for years without one problem. But now you have to change it and now my hair is ruined. 😡

This color works for my natural black hair without looking like asphalt sealer. Of course, I can no longer find it in any of the stores near me.

Beautiful deep dark neutral brown
400 Sweet Pecan is my favorite color EVER. Please don’t discontinue it. It’s a nice, deep, neutral dark brown and leaves my hair super shiny and healthy. Covers grays well but you need to leave on gray “new” growth longer than directions suggest, at least 45 minutes to completely set color or it will fade and not color grays. Then pull through the rest of your hair for another 10. Love this color!

Surprisingly Pleased!
Got tired of paying a fortune at the salon. Just needed my greys covered so I chose this in 400 Sweet Pecan. It’s essentially my natural hair color (pre-greys) and I’m totally happy with it.

Shocked..
Dying my hair at first saw a dark brown then it turned black I was so shocked, my hair was BR2 intense burgundy..I really wanted lighter but I know the color is going to change more lighter. Here two pictures how intense was my color. Not use to too dark now. I don’t like it. I have to be patient and see results after a month with washes and seasons.

Hi Betzyf7! We are sorry to hear that your color result with Nutrisse Ultra Coverage, 400-Deep Dark Brown/Sweet Pecan is darker than expected! There are many reasons why haircolor results can come out too dark. Once you have color-treated hair, we suggest following the touch up application method to achieve optimal results. Otherwise, by doing repeat full head applications, due to the hair's porosity, you are left with a haircolor result that is much darker than what you intended. Over time as you shampoo this color will lighten gradually. We appreciate your feedback and will be sharing it with others in our company.
