A: I read that the green light, on on the top, will turn red when ready to o be replaced.

If in the event the cord is damaged and you have exposed wiring, you could then potentially be exposed to lead or lead compounds and you would want to carefully dispose of the unit with a towel or gloves.

Q: How does the UVC light even work were its positioned ? its fully enclosed and above the air flow and filter, unlike the 5000 models the light is the entire length of filter and entire off the air flow

A: Hi, it does not matter where the UVC light is, because UVC light technology is a radiation method that make use of a specific wavelength of ultraviolet light to neutralize microorganisms. UV-C light is germicidal which means it deactivated the DNA of microorganisms like bacteria and viruses disrupting their ability to multiply. Have a great day!

We have guinea pigs and my old air filter broke. This was our replacement. It is much quieter than our old one (Honeywell.) However 4 starst because the replacement filters are costly (when the time comes.) I got this on-sale and so it was affordable to start with. I give customer service at Target 10 stars though - they were excellent. The original filter I purchased in the store was obviously opened and returned and reshelved - it was defective. I brought the filter in to exhcange and there were none left - customer service helped me navigate ordering online while still honoring the discount I had received when the sale was going on (sale had since ended) - and they were very efficient and kind. Confused & Dissapointed
I feel bad writing this review, but I have to let my experience w/this filter out to all--who knows maybe someone also has experienced the same. I have no complaints about the noice, the blue light but the BIG ISSUE is that my allergies, which were mild before have completely increased, to the point where I had to go my doctor. Watery & itchy eyes, sneezing, coughing, etc. were killing me!! Mind you, this was all during the first week of purchase, although I still did not give up on this, thinking the absolute increase of these allergies were brought on by something else, but no it was no doubt this purifier. Overall it had good reviews, so I didn't mind spending over $100 for something that worked!! Now I have to spend more time, extremely inconvenience to return this--there's no chance I can keep this. I mean come on, I had to take prescribed medications from the result of this filter, that's why I'm confused. Worked so well for others but I was in hell :( Also, it's not like I've never had one, but the result was no way close to this one. >>NOW TO START AN INCONVNIENT RETURN OF THIS PRODUCT W/OUT ANY COMPENSATION. Sad. I chose to give ZERO STARS for its value
