A: Very cheaply made. The handle and the part that hold the magnet are plastic. My magnet broke off after using it about 7 or 8 times. Now when I use it the top of the lid falls in the can.

I have sever carpal tunnel in both hands and lost strength in both . I find it very difficult to use the old manual can opener . You'r electric can opener is just what I needed , and the built in knife sharpener was a great surprise . Now I can enjoy some of my old favorite foods agin .

The magnet piece is plastic and has broke off on the two can openers I have bought.
Well I was opening up a can, the magnet fell off on the counter, and actually broke off. I'm going to try the new one that they made it's called a soft touch can opener, it doesn't have the magnet piece, so I won't worry again about it breaking off .

Never worked right
This can opener gave me trouble from the get-go. Six months in it went in the trash. I don't think I will buy hamilton beach products again
