Set up and clean up is a bit of a process but the results were worth it

So happy I found this machine. I had an older hoover model that worked well for years. I was looking for a similar machine, but found this upgraded unit that included a lot of attachments. Specifically, I wanted the wider stair attachment. My other unit had the soap container that you could remove when you wanted to perform a water only rinse cycle. So, I didn’t know if I would like this unit where there is no separate container. Well, I love it! I was amazed at its cleaning ability and suction. I always make sure to vacuum very well before cleaning and even then, this machine pulled out a lot of pet hair (I have 6 cats). I have used it on carpet, area rugs and furniture and it has done a great job on all cleaning and extracting at a level beyond my expectation. Oh, and the self cleaning function is AMAZING. I love how the machine easily breaks down for added cleaning and the self cleaning functions takes the extra step of internally cleaning areas you cant reach. Finally, I hardly ever leave comments/reviews on products but, I am so happy with this machine that I wanted to share for those who are considering a machine and/or are torn as to which one to get. You wont regret purchasing this one.

The noise level is not like your traditional cleaning machine and it literally sucks all the little crumbs and debris from my furniture.

Look no further. I am someone who paid full price for this machine (was not gifted) and did many months of research to find what I wanted. Main issue being a large tank capacity so I didn't have to keep stopping to dump out and refill. I have had many carpet cleaners and this machine is hands down the best one I've ever used. I've never had hoover before so I was a little worried but wow...put bissel to SHAME. I did an area without stopping to dump when it would have taken at least 4 refills with my old Machine. Best part is how well it handled dog messes. I am so impressed and actually looking forward to using it again lol

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so impressed by the Hoover SmartWash Pet XL carpet shampooer. This is a practically effortless machine that effectively deep cleans carpets. It is easy to lift and maneuver, even though it's a nice size it's light and easy to handle. The noise level is intermediate, not quiet as a mouse but more quiet than I expected from a carpet cleaner. My husband and I just moved in to a house where there were indoor pets. We immediately wanted new carpets but wast quite in our budget just yet. This Hoover couldn't have come at a more perfect time for me to test out. The stains & odor hat I thought would never come out are gone and the carpet looks and smells great. This machine comes with attachments and brushes that help eliminate pet hair and allowed me to get into corners and crevices. The digital display is foolproof and I love that for me! It tells mewhat mode the machine is on and also alerts to check water tanks when getting low or empty. It also comes with two different carpet cleaner solutions. Both smell amazing but the Tropical Breeze scent is my favorite! It leaves rooms smelling so fresh and clean like there were never any pets! Even when I deep clean my home there is nothing like having fresh clean carpets...it's just the icing on the cake!

I used it to scrub a spill on my couch. Great suction! I didn’t think it was real loud. I would definitely recommend this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The box states "cleans better & dries faster than Bissell", and after my first use, I totally agree. I had a Bissell pet carpet cleaner before this and the suction failed to dry. The Hoover SmartWash Pet XL is far superior to the Bissell I was using. My first test was on a high traffic area. I have a shedding dog, and even with vacuuming before cleaning, the Hoover managed to suck up undercoat hair trapped in the carpet which I didn't even know was there! It's definitely made for hairy situations and I appreciate the hook tool it came with for removing hair and the ability to remove rollers for cleaning (not all cleaners do this). I could literally see the dirt being washed/sucked up while using. Something to note is the "mode" text next to the power button is also a button itself (blends in, hard to tell at first) so that controls switching between modes. I appreciate the inidicators which light up when a mode is in use. The self-rinsing function is awesome! After use, set it up and it goes through it's own rinse cycle to blow out any remaining debris. After rinsing nasty carpet cleaners in the past, I can say this extra function is so helpful. I can't wait to try out the upholstery attachments next!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where do I begin, this carpet is awesome. I cleaned my area rug and it lifted the dirt effortlessly. The suction is powerful and left the rug slightly damp and when I put the dry only function on it nearly left the rug feeling completely dry. It’s not as loud as other carpet steamers I’ve used in the past. All the parts come off easily for cleaning. Overall, it was very easy to use and cleans the carpet. It’s lightweight also.

I gave my husband the task of tackling a cat vomit spot on the basement carpet that had gone unnoticed for a few days (yuck!). He neglected to take before & after pics, unfortunately. We would normally use a regular spray cleaner that is just okay, but the Hoover SmartWash Pet XL cleaned the spot so quickly and efficiently. The stain is gone, the cleaning solution didn’t leave a ring once dry (I was worried it would) and it was quiet enough that it didn’t cause vacuum anxiety with the cat (iykyk). I’m not saying I hope he pukes again soon, but I’ll clean it up next time! If I can add photos at a later time I will.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hoover smart wash XL is powerful and gets the job done. There are so many things to like about this carpet cleaner. First, it does a great job at making sure it’s sucking up all the dirt and debris, as well as excess water. Second, pet hair, as well as my own hair did not get clogged in it while cleaning the carpets and it kept it all contained within the shields so it didn’t go back out onto my floor like it has with other carpet cleaners. It comes with a handy bag to keep all the attachments inside, and you can hang it easily within your closet. It also comes with a cleaning rack so that you can clean, as well as store your carpet cleaner after you use, and comes apart easily, if you want to give it an extra wipe down. Honestly, this carpet cleaners worked better than other carpet cleaners I’ve ever used in the past. The only downfall I found was it was a bit heavier than other ones. However, I will trade the heavier weight for more powerful and cleaner floors.

The self-cleaning ability is WILD! The bristles are really good at grabbing the fur and pulling it into the dirty tank. The attachment for cleaning spots was great for a doggy accident. Does a great job at cleaning.

It has full on shampoo and a spot clean feature for those tough stains. It automatically starts to dry as you pull the vacuum back. It’s pretty loud, but it’s to be expected. The self clean feature is great too! It’s easy to disassemble and clean and put back together. Also, my carpet dried within a couple of hours. I didn’t expect that. My only complaint is the water runs out a little quickly in the water chamber, but not a big deal. Great carpet cleaner to have on hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best carpet cleaner I've owned by far! It has amazing suction power, so my carpet dries quickly, and I like that! It's not too loud and not too heavy so it's easy to move around different areas of my home. The attachments make cleaning my stairs a breeze! One of the things I love the most is the self-cleaning cycle. I just put the machine on the mat it comes with and turn on the cycle, and it cleans itself!! Gets all the hair off the brush! I feel like this will keep the machine in top shape and make it last! Very impressive carpet cleaner, and I've owned quite a few. This is by far my favorite! It's a great buy, and I do recommend it, especially if you have kids or pets.
