A: Great question! The HydroSteam feature on the BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam Pet is designed primarily for deep cleaning carpet and area rugs. However, the machine also comes with a hose and tools that allow you to clean upholstery and furniture using warm water and cleaning solution—just not the full steam mode.

Horrible!!!
Pros: - Easy to assemble Cons: - Horrible suction. This machine will leave your carpets soaked. It lets out a lot of liquid, but barely suctions any dirty liquid back in. - Had to shut the machine off multiple times before the steam finally worked. - Leaks like crazy!!!! Not only did the machine leak liquid all over my carpet even when the trigger was not being used, but it also leaked dirty liquid all over my hardwood floors. I’m not talking about a little liquid. It soaked my floors!!!

Love Shopping at Target

It's okay
Wondered if it would remove normal foot traffic soiling. It didn't fully remove it. I could still see traffic path versus never touched carpet areas under say the couch when exposing the carpet. Other normal spots were removed and overall I'm sure the carpet is cleaner. Debated on returning it but will keep it for normal freshening up and if someone needs to borrow it.

Needs improvement
Suction is really weak and not ideal for vacumming corners. I want to steam the corners too, but it always leaves 1 inch of unsteamed corners on the wall. The only thing I like about this is the steam but it is not even that good.

Great machine although I would be weary of the bel
I just finished setting up my machine everything seems to be working fine. I haven’t tested it yet but I noticed the brush belt is exposed under the unit. I will add a second review once I test it out but I would appreciate if bissell could update the design to fully enclose the belt as they have done in their previous models.

I have loved every Bissell I’ve ever owned, so I admit that my expectations were high. But I don’t think that it’s too high of expectations to assume that the suction would be good enough to at least suck all of the dirty water into the tank. Instead, it leaked and left puddles and smears of the dirty water everywhere. First try I thought I did something wrong and it was user error. Read the manual, instead of skimmed. Watched some videos and read up on other user experiences…and it was the same as before. Soaking wet dirty floors. I’d assume that I just had a fluke, but it seems like others have similar experiences reading the negative reviews. Yes, we vacuumed first - with the Dyson. Yes, we emptied the tank well before it was full. Yes, we made sure nothing was obstructing the intake…it just couldn’t suck up most of the water that it was expelling into the output tank. It just churned dirty water in the suction area and unless you moved quickly — which isn’t how you stream clean a rug — the water would leak out in puddles. It still would leak with quick motion. Just in steaks. Floors are still not clean and now soaking wet. With fans, 12-24 hours to dry. The “3-4 hours” they claim is a joke. Don’t waste your time, energy and money on this.

This is an excellent carpet and upholstery cleaner. The tools provided are well made and I like the self-cleaning option, especially after cleaning something that is really dirty. We cleaned a couch that we thought was unsalvageable, but this machine did a great job and now have a very nice clean couch.

Garbage
Save your money and avoid this garbage. 1. Steam doesn’t work when using the hose 2. Even with steam it doesn’t clean stains 3. It leaves the carpet soaking wet and barely sucks up 1/3 of the water it uses. 4. When you grab the handle of the dirty tank to empty, the top comes off and dumps the entire thing on the floor

Wouldnt purchase again
We originally purchased a shark carpet cleaner that was incredible. The suction was so strong that the carpet lifted from the floor and was immediately dry. The motor died after 3 months. We then bought this one and I’ve regretted not getting another shark every day since. We have a senior dog who is now incontinent and we use this a lot. The suction on it is just awful and it sprays a lot of water at once, so the carpet stays wet for like 48 hours. I just hate this thing. Even though we spent a lot on it, I think I may just go buy another shark since it’s significantly better in quality.

Good but not great
I liked this product when I first got it but after many many uses, it’s definitely not the best cleaner I’ve used. The suction isn’t very strong and have to do multiple passes to pick up most of the solution, the bristles don’t get into the carpet enough and I find I have to use a lot of the solution just to pick up any stain I have on my carpet. It also gets so much pet hair in all of the crevices that I have to clean mid use and after each use to keep it clean. I do like that the suction part on the front detaches and exposes everything but still a big hassle. I’d rather it spit out the pet hair so I can just pick it up after I’m done cleaning. I also think it sits too low to the ground so the under side gets really wet and continues to wet the carpet or maybe it leaks? Also, this machine is actually heavy so a pain to bring up the stairs compared to other models. Hoover Power Scrub is by far superior although a little outdated with the design.

Very poor suction. Not like our last Bissel.
The good. For a consumer grade cleaner, this is built fairly well. Assembly was very simple. The clean tank is easy to use as is the dirty water tank. It does very good picking up pet hair. Maintenance across the board is simple and the pieces come apart easily to allow getting out hair and dirt. The bad Suction. The suction on this cleaner is very poor. I verified that the dirty water tank and roller cover was properly seated. I did a couple sections of carpet using a gallon of clean water each. One pulled out 60 ounces from the carpet and the other 48 ounces. Over half of the water was left in the carpet. I can go behind with a Shop Vac and still pull water out of the carpet. Our last Bissel roll around cleaner sucked GREAT. Nothing like this.

Great cleaner!
This thing is awesome!! I pulled up so much murky water from my carpets I thought were relatively clean! So satisfying. Seems that areas I hit in the morning were dry by evening. It steams too, which I really like. It is heavy and bulky but super easy to use.
