The steam works great in combination with any solution. Only huge issue I have is that the steam is only for the vacuum and not the hose. Any handheld attachment will not have steam. I ready everything I could find and no where does it mention this. I went to spot treat a small area on my couch and in parentheses (when I was reading how to use) found the words “steam does not work with hose”. What a joke! Sadly, disappointed. They put it in the fine print of the manual that the hose does not have steam. I bought this to replace my steam cleaner and shop vac that I had to drag out to spot clean. I got tired of dragging these two things out and wanted a 1 trick pony. Well this pony bucked me! Wish I could return. It’s used and there is technically nothing wrong with it.

Bought this to clean our rugs which haven't been cleaned in over a year. When I rent a rug doctor the first water is opaque black and it gets progressively lighter as the rugs get cleaner (repeat the cleaning probably 4 times until the water is clear). With this rug cleaner the water starts out as dirty as between the second and third pass with a rug doctor. So it's not pulling out nearly as much dirt. It also doesn't saturate to the back of the rug, except in areas that are soaked and then it can't pull the all the water out with multiple dry passes. So, it works OK. I'm disappointed in how much dirt it brings out, but I guess if I cleaned the rugs every other month they might get as clean as my once a year rental (without having to rent, but much more work). I'd recommend just renting a professional grade rug doctor cleaner over buying this, unless you want to clean your carpet just OK all the time. (The water in the picture is the first pass, it should be muchhh darker with 3 indoor dogs and a farm).

I didn’t know they made 3 different model Numbers with the same name. So this is not the shampoo machine I intended on purchasing. There is a better model at Lowe’s for 100 more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is a well made product that looks modern and sleek. I love the rose gold accent. The machine was user friendly with an intuitive user guide. It was very easy to set up, break down, and clean. I also appreciated the long cord for ease of use. It was not too loud, easy to push, and cleaned very well. I was shocked at how black and dirty the water was after using it. The built in pretreat hydro steam was a nice feature but unfortunatley was not enough to get out some of the stains left behind by my two toddler boys. These were marker stains and mystery goo. In all honesty though, i don't believe that anything could have helped with those. It worked well on removing the standard dirt and beverage stains. I just love the hydrosteam feature either way. The 2 in self cleaning tool made it easier to clean chairs and couches; however it did not clean as well as compared to other bissell machines designed for this use specifically. With that being said it gets the job done without having to have a whole different machine when cleaning multiple surfaces. My rationale for giving 4 stars instead of 5 was that the first machine i used leaked water out of the bottom when it was not in use. I easily recieved a replacement product which driped out water from the bottom but not to the extent where i would call it a leak. Overall i would recommend this machine specifically because it does such a good job at cleaning and is so user feiendly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam Wet Dry Vacuum. I have to say that I was honestly blown away by how well it worked. We have a dog and 3 small children. There’s stains in our rugs that have been there for years. I tried everything to remove them with no success. This vacuum literally removed all those stains. It’s like I have brand new carpets again. Now I look forward to cleaning my carpets because they actually look clean when I’m done. So if you haven’t tried this Vacuum yet I suggest you run, not walk and get yourself one today. You’ll be so glad you did and your carpets will definitely thank you for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m blown away by the efficacy of this carpet/upholstery cleaner. It quite literally ate up some pet stains that we previously had difficulty treating. 10/10 for this product. Easily cleaned and maintained, easy to operate, overall highly satisfied.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam is a perfect carpet cleaner. It has a steam cycle along with its regular water cycle and it cleans much more thoroughly than any smaller carpet cleaner we have had. It is a bit heavy but works like a beast. It has all the attachments, for upholstery or stairs comes along with two tanks and cleaning solution. The cleaning of the machine and the accessories were all easy to clean after use. If you want to deep clean your carpets and keep them clean this is the best bang for your buck. We could not believe how much more dirty water this machine was pulling up out of my carpet. It pulled up stains that I thought would never ever come out. The Water Tank capacity is pretty good, I wanted a deeper clean and the tank capacity was easy to switch out and get back to work. No leakpage, good storage capacity, it is easy to use, it is built to Bissell high quality threshold, has lots of power and works beautifully.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used the vacuum now a few times to help clean up larger messes on carpet and furniture. Overall, the machine does a great job with cleaning up the mess and removing stains. It was very easy to use and made cleaning up much faster. The machine itself is a little bulky but light enough to roll and carry around. The hydro steam feature helped to tackle messed easier. I was able to get a food stain out of carpet very easily. I also used it to clean up a pet stain on furniture and it was very fast. The self cleaning tool made it easier to clean the machine after using.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a mom of 3 wild children and 3 dogs we’re definitely no strangers to messes, stains, and spills. Thankfully the bissell hydrosteam has been super easy to use, the cleaning tool made cleaning the couch so much easier. I’ve used it on our bedroom carpet, a rug, and our couches so far and it has been a game changer for my cleaning process. It’s lightweight and easy to clean after each use. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new cleaning tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I moved into a home with wall to wall carpeting in most rooms a couple years ago. Between my dog and my toddler, it’s needless to say the carpets had been stained in lots of places. I was so excited to use this in my living room. It was easy to put together and very satisfying to see the stains come up and my carpet look like new again. The tool that comes with it also helped me cleaning brown microfiber couch, which also had some spots that I wouldn’t get out with a regular cloth . This is a game changer for parents especially if you have light colored carpeting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bissell Revolution HydroSteam was easy to assemble and start using right out of the box. It’s much sleeker and less bulky than my older carpet cleaner I had previously used at home. I like the addition of the steam features, but I’m not sure whether or not it made a difference in the long run. I used the machine to deep clean an area rug in my dining room that gets a lot of heavy traffic and food messes from young kids. It sucked up a lot of dirt and messes (as evidenced by the dirty cleaning solution I had to keep dumping in the holding tank), but I could still see a spaghetti sauce stain (though less prominently) after I cleaned. I also like that this machine has the 2-in-1 cleaning tool and attachments to help clean upholstery and hard to reach spots. My biggest complaint is that it goes through water/cleaning solution super quickly, but that has been my experience with any carpet cleaning machine I’ve used. Overall, I’d recommend this as a good at-home carpet cleaning option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t expect to be this impressed, but this cleaner really did a great job. It’s super easy to use and not heavy or awkward, which makes a big difference when you’re trying to clean quickly. The HydroSteam feature worked better than I thought it would—especially on my area rug. That rug gets a lot of foot traffic, pet hair, and the occasional spill, and it honestly looked so much brighter and cleaner after just one use. What really sold me, though, was how well it cleaned my couch. I have kids and a dog, so the couch has seen it all—crumbs, stains, fur, you name it. I used the 2-in-1 tool, and it got into all the little corners and seams. I didn’t expect it to make such a big difference, but it pulled out so much dirt and made the fabric look and feel refreshed. It even smelled cleaner afterward. The built-in pretreater is a nice touch too. I used it on a few stubborn spots and it definitely helped loosen things up before I went over them with the cleaner. All in all, it’s been a solid addition to my cleaning routine. It handled everything from the area rug to the couch without any hassle, would totally recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My overall experience with this machine was mixed. It did a decent job with day-to-day cleaning, but it deep-cleaning powerhouse I was hoping for. The look and design are modern enough, the gold finish really stands out, but the unit is still bulkier than I'd like and awkward to store. It takes up a good amount of space, which can be a hassle if you don’t have a dedicated storage area. The 2-in-1 self-cleaning tool was probably one of the more useful aspects, but again, not perfect. It was convenient for quick cleanups on rugs, but it lacked the power to fully tackle embedded dirt on stairs. I appreciated the built-in Pretreater feature in theory, but in practice, the improvement was minimal. It felt like an extra step that didn’t always translate to noticeably better stain removal. In some cases, just going over the area a few times worked just as well.Overall, the machine does an okay job for light maintenance, but between the storage issue, setup hassle, and only moderate results, it doesn’t feel like a must-have. For the price and space it takes up, I think I’d rather call in a pro once or twice a year and save myself the time and effort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to use this steamer to help get stains out of our wall-to-wall carpet. With three kids and a dog, we have a combination of food and pet stains. The steamer was easy to fill and empty. I liked the pre-measured marks on the bin to know how much water and soap to put in. The cord is long enough for me to clean the entire room without having having to unplug it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have really enjoyed using the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam. It has sent me on a cleaning rampage that I didn't know I needed. I started off by using it to clean our family room rug, and I was shocked at the amount of dirt and debris that the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam picked up. This rug is relatively pretty new and we do not wear shoes in the house and yet it still was able to get so much out. I then started cleaning other carpet/soft surfaces in our home to find the same result. The machine itself is pretty big and heavy, but it does push and move very easily. It was very simple to set up and get started with cleaning. I was very impressed with the steam feature. This is definitely a great resource to have in my home to help me when there is a tough mess or when I am wanting to get a deep clean. My only complaint about the machine, is the time it takes to get it clean at the end. The hardest part for me to clean was the bristles area on the bottom of the machine. I do appreciate though that they give you the tools to make it easier. Overall, this is a great machine that gets a great deep clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first experience with a hydrosteam product and we were pleasantly impressed by both the depth and versatility of the cleaning. I like the fact that it can but used on multiple surfaces at various cleaning levels and comes with attachments. I will say it was a bit cumbersome to get it out of the box when first opened. I didn’t realize how heavy it was. Once getting it out, I was really impressed with the overall design. It was sleek, easy to push for heavy-duty cleaning and had a long cord. The dirtlifter power beushes are amazing tools for bringing dirt and grime out fibers. I like this cleaner the most for its ability to clean up pet messes. We have 3 boys and two cats so all the extra power in this machine is definitely useful. I have a before and after picture of some carpet that was heavily stained. It helped lift the grime out of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not only does this carpet cleaner have a sleek and modern look, it really pulls up the dirt in carpet! It was super easy to set up and use. The wide brush base covers a lot of carpet and takes less passes back and forth to get a clean room! I liked how the steam function was able to loosen up stuck on gunk. My favorite feature was the removable compartment on the brush head. Those get really gunked up after a while and can start to stink. It was easy to clean out after cleaning my carpets. Who wants to clean carpets with a dirty brush head??

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been looking for an upholstery/ carpet cleaner for a while and love that Bissell uses steam! I try to use minimal products or cleaner products in my home and love that this is an option. It’s easy to use but comes with easy to follow instructions if needed, it’s lightweight and easy to clean. It also has a cool self cleaning feature for the hand held attachment! It works really well, this is a picture of what it got out of my entryway carpet along with a good amount of dog hair. It’s no longer grayish, it’s more white again! I definitely need more practice with the hand held attachment though because I feel like some parts of my chair were left cleaner and others it left streaks or dark spots. I do wish the hand held attachment had a steam option and not just using water with the pre-treat. Overall a good cleaner though!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really impressed with the Bissell Revolution HydroSteam, it made my cleaning routine so much more efficient and thorough. The overall design is sleek and modern, and it's surprisingly easy to maneuver for a deep-cleaning machine. I especially loved how effective the HydroSteam Technology was at tackling sticky messes and tough dirt. I used it on my living room sofa to clean up juice spills, and I couldn’t believe how much dirt it pulled out, it left everything looking refreshed and spotless. One of the biggest wins for me was using it in both of our vehicles. The upholstery looks practically new again, especially in my work car where the pretreatment feature worked wonders on ground-in grime. It really made a difference in lifting dirt before the deep clean. The 2-in-1 self-cleaning tool was another favorite, it made it easy to clean above-floor areas like couches, stairs, and even pet beds without hassle. Overall, this machine has been a game-changer in my cleaning routine and definitely exceeded my expectations.
