A: On the front above the nozzle is a small latch/hatch/access point that is colored differently than the surrounding base. Open that and connect the hose there. I've always used a mixture of either Mrs. Meyers, or Mrs. Meyers and 1/4 cup bleach (never bleaches my carpet, only santizes it) and I've used even laudry soap and bleach (small amounts of each) and have had exceptional results. I think they want you to use the Hoover brand cleaners for obvious reasons, but I've always used other methods when I ran out of the cleaner that comes with the machine. If your uneasy about the bleach mixture try a little on a small patch first. But I've always put about a 1/4 cup in my full water tank to sanitize my carpet. Love it.

Some rugs, upholstery, and furniture must be cleaned with clothes or steam. Please review the cleaning instructions for your rug to find out if a carpet cleaner with a brushroll can be used.

I send my area rugs out to get cleaned twice a year and as you may know it is $$$ and you don’t have rugs for 1-2 weeks. I bought this during target days and I am thoroughly disgusted with this machine. It works so well I wanted to throw up when I saw the water. It really paid for itself with one use. Don’t hesitate to get this. If you have kids, dogs, or just want to not live apparently like a pig, get this.

Works sooo well! I wasn’t sure if it would get these stains out of my son’s carpet and it did! It’s very easy to use it runs like a vacuum cleaner with propulsion so you’re not pushing hard. The tank is decently big so you’re not dumping water constantly.

I have had several carpet cleaners in the past. All of them worked well in the beginning, then within 2 years the quality of their performance declined even when I cleaned and maintained them. I switched to renting a cleaner when I needed them. That got costly fast and the last 2 rentals did not work well. Decided to invest in a new cleaner. Was not happy with the first one I purchased, then I started seeing commercials for this one. I read up on it's consumer ratings and customer reviews and decided to give it a try. I returned the first one I purchased to get this one. It was so easy to assemble. It is very light weight. I love the way cleaner is dispensed without me having to pull a trigger, and sucked up when I pull back. I also love that I have the option to do suction ONLY. I got the cleaning results I wanted. Carpet dried very quickly once I was done. It was extremely easy to clean the machine and dump the dirty water. I am very happy with this purchase and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I need to know how it's gonna hold up over the next year or two. I love my plush, cream colored carpet and look forward to keeping it for many more years now.

HIGHLY recommend! The dump tank top comes off so it is easy to clean. Both water and dump tanks are large to make less dump/refill trips. And the top cover to the bristles and bristles come right off for the easiest cleaning of a rug washer I’ve ever seen.

I host airbnbs and this has been an absolute lifesaver in the past 24 hours. After guests who lacked any sort of decency left, I was stuck with severely stained and dirty carpet. This thing worked great on a pinch and has already dried about halfway in the past 2 hours. Insane difference, this dirt has probably been there for a month since they were staying here! 10/10

I read some reviews that this model leaves a lot of water and doesn't dry for many hours, as well as leaks etc - this isn't true. Yes it'll have some water near the edges of the rug, but wiping the excess off is a 10 second effort. It's a carpet washer, after all! I'm glad I bought it anyway! Amazing product. My rug is dry after 1.5 hrs and so clean. It was easy to assemble and easy to clean afterwards. I'm a very owerwhelmed person and almost never take time to write reviews, but I just had to do this one because that's how happy I am with my Hoover!! Big thanks to the team for creating this product.

Several perfect cleaners throughout the years this one by far has been the best for me. I actually started using this when I was in Australia and was happy to find that it was here in the US. It is easy to use one container for the cleaner, one for the water and one where the dirty is collected no holding buttons in while you’re pushing, love love love this

This is my first carpet cleaner and I love it! I usually just get my carpet cleaned but it was getting so expensive i figured I would try something different. I have pets and kids so this was a definite need for my household. I used it a few times and so far it’s been great. I like that it has a drying feature so you can get up the additional water. I decided to purchase a carpet cleaning machine as my 15 year old dog has been having some accidents on the carpet. This Hoover machine was amazing. It is as easy to use if not easier than a vacuum cleaner. It doesn't over soak the carpet and I love the dry only feature. For the deeper stains I had to use the hand held feature which does have a trigger button to spray/wash which took me a minute to figure out, but easy to use. I probably should have used a pre-treatment, but didn't. The tropical breeze cleaner that the product came with has such a light smell I barely noticed which was a concern for me as I don't like a lot of perfume smells. The product comes with an actual printed manual (don't have to go online!) that was easy to follow. The machine snaps together easily and it was super easy to clean. I can't say enough about this product. Well worth the money. You will be happy. From picking it up at Target, putting it together, cleaning two rooms and cleaning the machine took about 3 hours. Next time it will be even easier as I know how to use it and it's all put together. Love it!

Not too heavy, easy to maneuver. Does a nice job on carpet and the dry setting is an added bonus, keeping additional water out of the carpet. Easy to clean, no need to get out a screwdriver to take the brushes off for cleaning. I have pets so I use my carpet cleaner a lot; hope this one holds up to repeated use.

I think the cleaner WORKS well, I’m just not convinced that the parts used to make machine are quality. I have purchased MULTIPLE machines and each one of them leak. It leaks in the back. The cleaning solution bottle doesn’t hold the cleaning solution. It all becomes a crappy machine
