A: Thank you for contacting IMUSA, once the coffee has brewed to the frother sign on the coffee carafe you must turn the dial to the frother sign and submerge your milk in order to foam it.

A: I make "regular" coffee with mine all the time. It's normally called "Americano" style... 50% espresso, 50% hot water. Of course, unlike a traditional coffee maker, that means you're making one cup at a time.

A: No, it doesn't come with a tamper. But for what it's worth, most of the time, I don't tamp. Reaaly depends on the type of beans you use, as tamping does let you adjust flow rate. It's a bit of a controversy amongst espresso fans. Some swear by it, others claim it's unnecessary.

Speaking of how this machine makes coffee, I can say that it makes a good espresso. The machine heats quickly and makes the coffee quickly. It also has the option to heat the milk (milk frother) So far, I haven't been able to get it to make a firm foam to make a cappuccino, but what I have managed to do is heat the milk and get a light foam. The machine comes with its measurements; you just need to have well-ground coffee and know your preferred measurement.

Its small not bulky at all, very easy and simple to use. Its literally 3 setting, off and on button, coffee button and milk frother. Its very convenient and easy to clean. This is my first time using this brand and I'm excited to tried their other products and learn more about them. Would definitely recommend this coffee machine. Easy, simple and does that job!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it to make both iced coffee and hot cup of coffee. I think it would have been a good idea to have product samples that can be used with the machine. I used instant coffee, used the glass pot that came with it, filled it up to 4 cup mark and poured the water onto the resovoir on top of the machine. I used the scoop that came with it, I like my coffee strong so I used 2 scoops and put that in the filter basket, then placing that in the brewing head. Plug it in and turn the button to up symbol and it begins to brew in about 2 minutes . If you want to froth your milk , turn the knob to the steaming and put your cup of creamer or milk under the steam nozzle, then turn it back to the cup symbol so it can finish brewing. Once your done, fix your drink however you'd like. Before unplugging turn the knob to the steam function to release any pressure that may be left behind in the machine.

I would highly recommend this machine. The directions are easy to understand and all the parts work great with the exception of the seal that has shifted and let some steam release, so I had to restart but that's likely a user error not manufacturing issue.

The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that it is very compact and does not take up much counter space. It includes very easy to follow instructions for making espresso or frothing milk for cappuccino or lattes. It brews up to 4 cups of coffee at a time in about 2 minutes. The only negative is that it does not have a automatic shut off function. Overall, this is a great espresso machine for the price!

Our espresso machine that we've been using for the past 6 years broke couple of months before we received this item so it was a perfect timing. We've been using the regular drip coffee machine that I had stowed away until we found another that's worth spending big bucks on. Compared to the other two full sized espresso machines used in the past, my European husband who's big on coffee in general, doesn't see much difference. Most of the time, it's the coffee itself he says. Lavazza espresso beans is one of our favorite. We like that it's small and compact to put it on countertop in our smaller space but it's very practical and does what the other full sized espresso machines do without sacrificing much quality. Both espresso and the cappuccino with milk frother works and tastes great. It's easy to use, convenient, and I just love that I can clean it up in no time. We give it a 4 star only because we're probably so use to the bigger full sized ones that has faster heat and steam with stronger pressure stability. I would recommend it to anyone that has a small place. Having said that, we're not really looking for another full sized espresso machine for now :)

Perfect for a small household because it only prepares up to 4 cups per time . I like that it's small and fits perfectly in my small kitchen . I was a little intimidated when I received the product because I had never made espresso or cappuccino before. I brewed my first and it was so delicious. My daughter has a large expensive espresso maker and she couldn't tell any difference. She was a little jealous because the IMUSA is a perfect size for a single woman and can easily be stored in a cabinet when not in use! I loved that I could use it, put it away and it made delicious tasting espresso. I am not sure if my daughter was more impressed at the machine or the fact that her mom was able to figure everything out. We celebrated the machine by making espresso martinis and watching a good "chick flick" together.
