Q: Does this work with the older model as far as adding cameras? Can I still use my old camera and add this in addition?

A: Unfortunately not. The DXR-8 PRO is using a different platform and can't work with the DXR-8 addon camera.

A: Safe cable management is essential for any baby monitor. To reduce strangulation/suffocation risk, follow the manual and CPSC guidance: keep all cords at least 3 feet (1 meter) from the crib and out of reach. Q: Does the camera work without being plugged into the wall? The monitor is charged and ready to go but the camera won’t work/turn on unless I have it plugged up. I thought this entire set was wireless.

Excellent Customer Service
Our monitor display stopped working and customer service worked very quickly to replace the unit. I'm so happy with this product after having used other brands. The more expensive brands that connect to your phone are nice, but you have to keep your phone on all the time. The cheaper brands definitely break more easily and don't have easily-removable batteries, as well as customer service that's impossible to get through to + confusing firmware issues. I can't stress how much we like this monitor. The ANR feature also is nice if you use a sound machine. It was very easy to pair the replacement unit with our existing camera. Picture is clear, and rotating the camera is easy.

This monitor is not durable. We dropped it once (not from a high distance) and ever since the monitor will only turn on if it’s plugged in. The second we unplug the screen turns black. If I had the choice, I would not purchase it again.

Top notch customer service!
A great baby monitor! We love that it doesn’t use wifi and it has been super easy to use for us! On par with how great the camera is, the company’s customer service is top notch. We were having issues with our camera at first and after chatting with Kristine at Infant Optics, we had a replacement camera within a week! Such a great help and we really appreciated the support.

I love this baby monitor. The image quality is so clear and all the features are amazing. I had a small problem with the monitor and their customer service was amazing. They always replied to all my emails almost right away, they offered me a solution immediately and they were so nice all the time. Love that this monitor doesn't require wifi! It's very easy to use and set up. It works great even with our white noise running right next to the camera in his room. The bluetooth/distance works great everywhere in our house (have had no issues with connectivity. The camera quality is great, of note it is black and white in the dark and color in the light! I never need to charge during his day naps and I just leave it plugged in and on all night on my night stand. My cousin likes it for both of her kids with two cameras as well! We had an issue where the keypad stopped working on the handheld monitor and customer service was so easy and quick to give us a replacement! I would recommend this product to any new parent!!

Love this monitor! My favorite things: 1) ANR feature provides clear sound when my baby cries or makes noise but filters out all background noise including the sound machine which is SO nice. 2) Dedicated volume and brightness buttons on the top. This seems like such a simple obvious design, but I haven’t come across any other monitor with this. I have to change the volume and brightness a lot throughout the day and night and most monitors have it buried three levels deep in the menu, so this was a big selling point for me. 3) Picture quality is fantastic and the bonus zoom lens is great. 4) Sound quality is the best I’ve heard, a smooth pleasant tone compared to others I’ve used. 5) LED sound-indicator lights are nice color and placement. 6) The menu is intuitive and has everything I need. 7) The stand on the back is so much better than the little flap that most others have. 8) No problems with connection or range and don’t have to worry about WiFi or losing connection. I only have ONE COMPLAINT and that’s the battery; it dies pretty fast, so I leave it plugged in overnight and off the charger during the day. Overall very pleased with this monitor and recommend it!

It's a yes for me
With all the scary instances of wifi baby monitors being hacked I knew having a wifi free monitor was a must. I received this unit for my baby shower and have absolutely loved it! It's great quality and very user friendly. A few weeks ago it started having a weird issue with the buttons so I reached out to customer support. They were extremely quick to reach out and help me troubleshoot the issue. And even though my unit was past the one year warranty they sent me a new battery to replace what we thought to be a faulty one. Emma C was an absolute jem and was so helpful the entire process. 10/10 would purchase again and again!

Amazing customer service from Emma C
I have tried multiple cameras for the nursery and this is definitely THE ONE. I did have some trouble with the image on the monitor being very unclear, so I had reached out to Infant Optics customer support and Emma C was so quick to help! Emma was patient and thorough. After instructing me on some troubleshooting, Emma ended up sending me a new camera and bettery, and I mailed back the old one. It arrived so quickly and the new camera worked perfectly! The image on the monitor is so crisp and clear. I love the ability to move the camera by using the keys on the monitor, and the zoom feature is also helpful. The ASMR feature is nice, but I do not often need to use it as the sound is already so clear and I can easily hear my baby. I have already recommended this camera to multiple friends, but now I recommend it even more highly as the customer service of Infant Optics is top notch! I never expected such quick help these days. Highly Recommend!
I used this camera/monitor for both my kids. I love it. Also, I am extremely impressed w the company’s customer service. When I had an issue, not only did customer service end up sending me a new camera, they followed up with me via email to ask if the issue had been resolved and always responded promptly and helpfully. Highly, highly recommend!

Great Camera and Great Customer Service
Camera is simple, easy to use and the image is great but their customer service is even greater! I was having an issue with the sound on my monitor so I contacted customer support and Dominic V. tried to help me trouble shoot. When none of that worked long term we looked into my 12 month warranty. This was a gift off of my registry just over a year ago which meant I technically wasn’t eligible but Dominic V. went above and beyond and still honored my warranty and shipped me a replacement asap. I am very grateful!

Great Product & Customer Service
We love this monitor. The camera and monitor screen work great. Our camera did stop working (not sure why) so I contacted customer service and they responded very quickly and sent a replacement camera right away after I just provided the serial number and some other information. The new camera was shipped with next day shipping and I just had to mail back the old camera. It was a very quick and an easy process. We were relieved to not have to go without a monitor for long or buy a replacement!

So frustrated with this product
We have been using this monitor for about a year and a half and it will no longer turn on. I spent an additional $20 to order a new battery which has not solved the issue. Really frustrating to be dealing with this at a $200 price point.

Screen stopped working after 8 months. Company won't replace.
I started out loving this product. I've had it for 8 months and the screen randomly stopped working. It was not dropped and there were no warning signs leading up to this. We only use the monitor a few hours a day for naps, as baby room shares and we don't use the monitor overnight. All of that to say, the screen should not have quit after 8 months. The company is rude and unhelpful. The product was received as a gift (as many baby products are) and I cannot provide a receipt. For $200, they should stand behind their product. Apart from the screen, the battery never lasts very long. It requires constant charging.

Great monitor but some issues
I have mostly loved this monitor since buying it about 9 months ago. The picture quality is great. It comes with multiple lenses so if you set up the camera closer or further away from baby you can use the appropriate lens. My 2 complaints are: 1. the battery does not seem to be holding up the best - I need to charge it like every 2 days at this point and we only use it roughly 3-4 hours a day. 2. The volume on the monitor as well as the noise sensor randomly stopped working a few days ago. I did just reach out the customer service so hopefully they can help trouble shoot. 🤞🏼

Slowly declined then stopped working after 1 year
This monitor always died super fast and it now only lasts about 2 hours. It also makes a constant buzzing noise (even with the noise reduction feature off). This is extremely unfortunate because this is an expensive piece of equipment you'd hope to use for a second child too and it didn't even make it past a year.
