Q: Has anyone been able to safely remove the black ring lid? Is there a specific way to do it? It feels like I'm about to snap the plastic.
submitted by Ty - 3 months ago
A:Â Per kitchenaid: The lids on the old did separate. However, the newer models do not separate. We no longer make lids for our Food Choppers that will separate.

Q: Will this chopper make slaw?
submitted by Jean - 3 years ago
A: Yes, you can. In order to run it you have to press down on the edge of the lid, so you can control how small you want the pieces. It won’t shred the cabbage though

A:Â The food chopper does not feature a shredding disc for making slaw, it will chop and puree.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] works good chops and puree's as designed, just wish I didn't have to hold the lid down to keep it running. Cup is large blade is easy to get in and out. its only flaw having to hold the button / lid

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Received this as a Christmas present to replace my Cuisinart that I have had for years. I missed the option to just put it on shop and have it keep going without having to pulse or hold my finger on the button but I like the fact I can pour oil in to make pesto or mayo, etc..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've recently purchased the KitchenAid 3.5 Cup Food Chopper and love it. As my family is a very big one, this 3.5 cup chopper fits great for my family size when preparing dinners. I've used this chopper almost everyday since my purchase. It makes chopping onions, carrots, celery, and garlic a more pleasurable thing to do. It gives me the right sizes pieces that I need for different recipes. This chopper is easy to use and easy to clean and I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago when my 20+ year old food processor gave up the ghost. I’m anxious to try it but just haven’t had an opportunity yet. The size is really what sold me because I typically don’t need things in big batches. I wish I could trade my stand mixer in for a red one to match!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for Christmas and thought, something else I won’t use in the kitchen. WRONG! I use it all the time, saves so much time and is super easy to clean. I enjoyed the chopping process, it never bothered me. I’ll never chop or slice with a knife again. Best little appliance I own.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a gift. I love cooking but hate prepping onions, garlic, and jalapeños. Chopping sticky garlic, my eyes watering from onions and my hands burning from peppers. This thing is amazing. I put the garlic in first and chop it up pretty fine and then can just pulse a few times for finely chopped onion. It does chop pretty fine, which is kind of a plus for me as picky eaters don’t detect the onion. All I need to do is quarter the veggies and pop them in. It’s a breeze to wash as well. Everything is uniformly chopped thanks to the top and bottom blade, sometimes other food choppers only have one middle blade so anything at the bottom goes unchopped, or they will completely pulverize the bottom into liquid. I use this thing for everything and feel like it can handle anything, my old cheap chopper was so weak.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned a small Kitchen Aid food processor for many years and love it. I purchased a.new one with a 3.5 cup bowl for my husband for Christmas. So far we love it! It has the same easy to use features and the chopping seems to be finer than the old one. That maybe thanks to the bigger bowl. Perfect for our needs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the thumb-press control that gives me a lot of control over the machine, and it incorporates ingredients very well. My only concern is that its function is depending on a little plastic piece that gets depressed, and this piece could easily get broken during the cleaning process, which would render the unit useless. This part should be more protected in the design.
