Q: I have a Ninja Blender; and a 40 year old food processor by Cuisinart; I only use my food processor mostly for making pie dough..how is this machine on pie dough; and is there a storage box for the other blades?
submitted by bmgarv - 2 years ago
A: We are happy to confirm that this system will be able to handle your pie crust recipes using the dough blade. There is a storage box for the disc but this system does not include a storage box for your blades.

Love the dough button - made batches of pie dough incredibly fast. Suction cups on the bottom are a nice touch and keep it from moving on the counter. Cleanup is easy with the ability to throw everything in the dishwasher.

I’ve had this food processor for just over a year and only use it maybe 1 time a month and the latch on the lid already broke. It’s very frustrating that the 2 year “warranty” says that it doesn’t cover “normal wear and tear of wearable parts” so the company won’t do anything. Considering my other food processor was over 20 years old before k replaced it and this one is only a year old I am incredibly disappointed at this waste of money. I would really caution those interested in this machine and advise them to choose another.

I don’t know how I lived without this. Every single attachment on this is a time saver and excellent at what it does. The dough attachment is what sold me and since I bought this Ninja processor about a year ago, I’ve made countless doughs, pizza sauces with the chopping blade, grated countless slabs of cheese with the grating disc, made tons of potato gratin with the slicer side etc etc. It is super easy to hand wash or place in the dishwasher, too. I love it!

I opened the box and some of the pieces had what looked like use marks, so I thought maybe I'd gotten a used example. But I went to wash the blades and sliced off a chunk of my pinky by accident, and I don't think that would've happened with a used one. Eventually I processed some food and it went very smoothly. Much better than the 1 cup, 10 year old processor I was using before. Thanks Ninja!

Ended uo purchasing the Cuisinart

Returned. I like the aesthetics of it and I like the multiple functions. However, the plastic pitcher that holds all of the food in is cheap. I made chocolate chip cookie dough batter in it and it created deep indents/scratches!! I don’t understand what is in chocolate chip batter besides the chocolate chips that would cause such deep scratches. I used a silicone spatula to scoop the batter out. I decided to use it again and made a black bean brownie batter. It just couldn’t pulverize the beans enough so while eating the brownies, I kept getting pieces of the outer shell of the black bean (I used canned). It made the brownies less palatable. Also, I had to clean the unit after using so I put it in my dishwasher, top rack. The handle is a problem because it holds water there. And I couldn’t get to it to dry it. That moisture will lead to mold… Overall, I don’t expect the pitcher to last long. And it doesn’t pulverize food enough for my tastes. There’s no way this thing is going to last. I suppose you get what ya pay for. This unit is cheap. I ended buying the Cuisinart classic series 14 cup processor. Holy Toledo!! That thing is a power house!! (No, I’m not a competitor or paid person. Just a mom who likes appliances that actually work well). It’s $250 but we’ll worth it

I received this for Christmas and was so excited to get it. I had used it for our New Years' party and was so pleased to go and use it the second time on January 31 to chop up some onions and the back broke off. I really liked this product and would appreciate a replacement.

I have not stopped using this. I chop everything up with this. Carrots, onions, garlic, peppers and store in glass jars. Saves me so much time. I also put my rolled oats in and chop it fine (not to a powder) for my overnight oats.
