Q: Has anyone been able to safely remove the black ring lid? Is there a specific way to do it? It feels like I'm about to snap the plastic.
A: Per kitchenaid: The lids on the old did separate. However, the newer models do not separate. We no longer make lids for our Food Choppers that will separate.

Q: will this item finely dice tomato and onion?
A: While it doesn’t have a dicing option, it will finely chop it, just pulse it, don’t run it.

Q: Will this chopper make slaw?
A: Yes, you can. In order to run it you have to press down on the edge of the lid, so you can control how small you want the pieces. It won’t shred the cabbage though

A: The 3.5 Cup Food Chopper will chop vegetables and you are in control of how finely they are chopped.

Q: Does this Mini Chopper work as a food processor as well? I need to "finely chop" carrots into the texture of "wet sand" for a carrot cake.
