[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So after a month with the product and cooking four different grains I’m familiar with, I’ve been astonished at how consistent the terrific results have been. I love knowing that when I use it the device calibrates how much water and how long to cook contingent on my settings so that it’s perfect every time. I’ll not go back to my old cooker and can’t wait to cook even more in this cooker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago after moving into my new house. I wanted a new rice cooker. I did some research and decided on the Kitcchen Aid grain & rice cooker. I like it will automatically adjust the amount of water I need depending on the amount of rice I put in. The water compartment is clear sturdy plastic so I can see when the water is getting low. It doesn't just cook rice. I like various multi grains Arthur’s Flours. Now I don't need to use the double boiler so the don't get burn. I get distracted & forget I have something on the stove. Usually why, I have to do one task at a time. With the Kitchen Aid grain and rice cooker I don't have to worry about the rice and grains getting burnt. I can soaked my beans or rice up to 2 hours. The rice is nice and fluffy and stays warm for 6 hours. You have to clean the rice and beans before puttingin in the rice cooker. It is not a rice or bean cleaner. I like the 21 presets for the grain and rice. I can program it 24 hr ahead for delicious cereal or my different rices I like to eat. It has a small insert to steam vegetable. I tried some broccoli and cauliflower, it worked well. I am happy I bought it.

I REALLY want to like this, but too many problems

I REALLY want to like this Rice cooker, but I'm having too many problems with it. Not sure if the quality of Kitchen aid products has gone down or I just got a dud. When it works, it works GREAT, when it works. Most of the time the scale on this is wrong... like horribly wrong. And if I don't notice that the scale is weight the rice incorrectly before starting it, it always undercooks the rice because it doesn't add enough water. There are times where the scale will claim the rice is have the weight it actually is. Simply taking the container out of the cooker and letting it reset doesn't work very often. Most of the time it will still continue reading the weight incorrectly and it's always reading it less then what it really is. I would say this happens at least 3 out of every 4 - 5 times i use it. The other problem now that has been popping up is an Error 4A and that I need to unplug the machine for 30 minutes to let it cool down. This is when it's not even HOT. This keeps popping up at times when I lift the container out of the cooker, then suddenly the error pops up and when it's not even hot, at all. Like the warm feature turns off and it's been sitting awhile, I pull the rice bowl out to transfer the rice to a sealable container, as soon as I remove the bowl from the cooker, that error pops up. The bowl is barely luke up warm and I can touch it without issue, yet I get the Error 4A error claiming I need to unplug the machine and let cool down before restarting... I've only had this a few months I guess and I'm already regretting the purchase. I'm guessing with all the problems I'm already having with it, it probably won't even be functional by the end of the year or the problems will be so bad it won't be worth using. I'm just glad I kept my original rice cooker and didn't get rid of it after buying this one.

I decided that I wanted to eat more grains and beans, so I decided to try it. I know I could do all this on the stove, but I like gadgets that work. It made perfect quinoa and short grain brown rice. For best results pay close attention to the startup menu when starting a cycle, your selections matter. I look forward to trying beans and other grains. The low end capacity works for me. I can see them making a large capacity model in the future…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite counter top appliance. The rice comes out better than any rice cooker I have used. Also great for beans. Easy and perfect. I’m looking forward to using the other grain options. This appliance takes all the guess work out of cooking. Love the keep warm feature, and the steamer rack is very convenient. Have already recommended to friends.

Oatmeal failures

Every time I cook oatmeal, I have to lift the inside pot and reset the scale numerous times before it will calculate the weight & start adding water. Now it has started leaking a substantial amount of slimy foam/liquid though tge top vent. Very messy. Purchased my cooker only March 19th. Struggling.

I echo the great reviews left by so many. i have had mine 2 months and i look forward to using it almost every day. it is fun to use. I’m making far healthier meals with a mix of grains and vegetables, and a cinch to clean one pot. Everything has turned out perfectly including black beans going from dried beans to cooked in 1.5 hrs. The warming feature is nice to keep food warm for a period after cooking. Not one complaint!!!

A dream come true !!! Here In Louisiana rice is a daily staple ; but it’s hard to get the right consistency every time. This rice cooker is perfect in every way !!! It weighs the rice and dispenses the exact amount of water . No messy measuring , no guessing , just fluffy delicious rice . It’s worth the price for sure . I did purchase an appliance slider that has rollers , for easy access . I would always use a rubber spatula to serve or stir as it will scratch with metal utensils.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this machine. It is easy and makes preparing rice, grains, and beans a breeze. Especially wild rice that takes an hour to cook. Keeps it warm until you need it. I for one am very happy with this purchase and don't know how anyone can not have one. Like the Kitchen Aid mixer...both a must for any kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this cooker. So easy with many options for different types of rice, etc. The only problem I’ve had is if I don’t level the rice/grain. If not very level, the rice/grain sticking up does not get cooked well, but that’s because I did follow directions well enough. I wish the start later option was easier to figure out. If you could choose a time for the item to get done instead of calculating how many hours later to start it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rice cooker is very easy to use. I was amazed how the rice cooker measured the weight of the rice and then and fed the correct portion of water to make a perfect rice. The only downside to the cooker is it takes about an hour to cook, but my old rice cooker took at least 45 minutes. The KitchenAid has a visual timer and the old rice cooker did not. It is super easy to clean. Overall this rice cooker is expensive but well worth the price
