Q: Is this product gluten free? I am gluten intolerant and need gluten free products... My main concern is cross contamination of this product by running it through a facility that handles wheat. Thank you,

  • A: The company website says they only make things from rice, so I'd feel it is safe from cross contamination with wheat gluten.

  • A: The company website has mochi recipes and says: "Mochi" is a chewy, soft textured Japanese dessert preparation. So it oughta work for that type recipe.

  • A: Yes, mochi is traditionally made from short grain sweet rice. KF uses the brokens or #2's to make the flour. There is a recipe on the 1# box for mochi.

Q: Hi, I just ordered this flour from online, and it came in the box only, the flour was not enclosed in a sealed plastic bag within the box. Is this the way the flour is packaged? I'm skeptical of using it. Thank you.

  • A: The 1# boxes are not wrapped in plastic. The KF website is best to reference when deciphering production codes, which is embossed on the top label.

Love this product!

I use Koda Farms Mochiko Sweet Rice Flour when making my peanut butter mochi, brownies, waffles, etc. and they are delicious! Hope you always keep it in stock! Also, your prices were very reasonable.
