Q: Can I use this on a faucet that produces water with rust and other sediment/minerals?
A: Is this 10 cup a glass pitcher as well?
submitted byHandy - 6 months agoA: Hi, Yes, LifeStraw Home filters can help reduce rust in water. Rust is typically caused by iron particles, and the LifeStraw Home filter uses advanced filtration technology, including activated carbon and a membrane microfilter, to remove contaminants like rust, dirt, and sediments, along with bacteria, parasites, and microplastics. However, if the water contains a high concentration of iron, resulting in heavy rust, the filter might need more frequent replacements to maintain its effectiveness.. I have attached a "compare" chart that is posted on our website so you may see what it removes. https://lifestraw.com/pages/compare I hope this helps answer your question!

Q: Hi I was wondering if I could use the lid without the filter part?
A: Hi Samanth, Thanks for your question. The lid is engineered to work with the filter housing, which is how it securely attaches to the pitcher. Without the filter, the lid won’t fit snugly on the carafe and may come loose during pouring. For safety and optimal performance, we recommend using the lid as designed, with the filter in place.
