Q: Can these filters be left to dry out and then beginning to use quite a time later- like 3 weeks? Or do these filters need to remain in use (wet) continuously?
submitted by Lisa - 1 year ago
A: For durations less than a couple of months they can be dried out and stored in a sealable, airtight container or bag. If you're going to be storing this for more than two months we recommend replacing the carbon filter when your resume use.

I’m sure it works as well as the original. Which I have zero complaints about. I enjoy clean and safe drinking water.

Leaks A Lot & Slides Around

This water dispenser worked fine for about 6 months before we started noticing failures in the seal of the dispenser causing leaks. The leaks have gotten so bad we are looking for a replacement product since all the water leaks out overnight. There are other small issues with this dispenser, as others have said it isn't heavy enough to stay put when you dispenser water, causing you to almost need two hands to dispense it (on a smooth countertop you definitely need 2 hands to use it). We started keeping our extra butter behind this dispenser to keep it in place. A simple rubber footing around the bottom lip on the container would fix this for both countertop and fridge applications. It seems that LifeStraw is not interested in fixing this product, since leaking issues and sliding/handling issues have been brought up in reviews for over 2 years now. Which is a shame since LifeStraw has a really good filtration product, in a poor delivery system here. I would pay out the nose for an inline home system if they ever move into that market. Until then I continue my search for a non-leaking water dispenser for my fridge. . .

We have two of these glass filters purchased to reduce the amount of overall plastic we use and are exposed to. They work well and we're pleased with the lifespan of the filters and the quality.

I really like the pitcher, your company mission, and the filtration system. It works well for what I need, and I plan to use it for a long time. My one critique is that the top of the filter is not as secure in the base as I would like, and it slides forward when pouring. My previous filter pitcher never had this problem, even after 5 years of use, and the Life Straw one is already having it. I can hold the lid on while pouring just fine, and it’s not too much of an inconvenience, but something to consider in future designs! Thank you :)

Overall happy with the product. It is very difficult to unscrew the filter housing to put the filter in. I almost returned it b/c I couldn't unscrew it. My husband was able to after multiple tries.

The filtered water seems to be fine. I don’t have any way of testing the water without sending it into a testing lab. The only thing I don’t like as much is the water spout on the front. I wish it was more like a spigot style like other friends have. It’s hard to fill bottles without spilling. My main concern was micro plastics and eliminating them. The water taste is good.
