A: I use the decals that come with the pitcher. they run a 60 day cycle. However, I find that I go thru them faster in the summer time as I use more water drinking, then I seem to change the filter every 45 days. Take in mind that this will depend on the size of your household and water conditions of your area. I do prefer the PUR over Brita as I had one of those in the past.

A: There is no expiration date on the packaging or on the sealed filter packets. This does not surprise me. I am a chemist with a great deal of experience in filtration and activated charcoal type filters. Simply put, I cannot see a reason why the product would expire provided the seals are intact and unopened for the packets containing the actual filter. Of course you can open the box without difficulty. The product should function quite effectively for many years.

Q: The original filters said "Removes 96% Mercury and 95% of certain Industrial Pollutants." The box for these says "Reduces Copper, Mercury..." etc. The webpage gives percentages but that's probably for the original filters. Are the percentages still true?

Easy filter!

The installation was super easy. You remove it from the pouch and run it under cold water for 15 seconds and it’s ready to go!

Effortlessly and efficient
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Read the directions! I nearly missed the part where you rinse the filter for 15 seconds before installing (even though it's in bold.print on the packaging). Sometimes we get in a rush. Installation is super quick and easy - slide in the hole and twist! Filter lasts for 2 months and the unit came with a calendar with adjustable marking to remind you when it will be time to switch to a new one. Very handy! The filter worked very quickly and the entire contents was through the system in no time at all. I didn't even hear much of a sound.

Terrible filter, doesn't last!
I bought 2 boxes thinking the 1st box might be a defective box because the filtering was so slow (an inch of water filtered after 2-3 hrs) after 7-8 days. It completely stopped filtering after day 9. Both boxes are the same. I won't be purchasing anymore. Too expensive to have to use a box a month!
