Q: does any part the system pass waterthrough filter containing copper? does this potentially allow copper levels to raise? Eco filter brand adds 6x copper cuz it passes through filter containing copper.
A: Thank you for your question. No part of the LifeStraw Home system—including the membrane or carbon filters—passes water through any component made of or containing copper. As a result, the filtration process does not introduce copper into the water. In fact, the activated carbon and ion exchange resin used in our filters are designed to reduce heavy metals, including copper, if present in the source water. I hope this helps answer your question!

Q: Do the unopened cartridges dry out after how many months in storage?Do cartridges fit all your pitchers & counter top models? doesn't bacteria build up if you do not refrigerate pitcher after filling?
A: Hello! Thank you for your questions. I hope I can help clarify. Shelf Life of Unopened Filters: Our carbon + ion exchange filters do not have a shelf life if left unopened and stored in a cool, dry place. Filter Compatibility: The carbon + ion exchange filter is compatible with all LifeStraw Home models, including glass and BPA-free plastic pitchers and dispensers. It’s a universal fit across our countertop-style products. Bacteria Buildup Without Refrigeration: Once the pitcher is filled, we recommend using the filtered water within 24–48 hours if it's kept at room temperature. Refrigeration helps slow any potential bacterial growth, especially in warmer environments. If not refrigerated, we suggest refreshing the water daily for best taste and safety. Let us know if you need help with anything else.

Q: Can these filters be left to dry out and then beginning to use quite a time later- like 3 weeks? Or do these filters need to remain in use (wet) continuously?
A: For durations less than a couple of months they can be dried out and stored in a sealable, airtight container or bag. If you're going to be storing this for more than two months we recommend replacing the carbon filter when your resume use.
