I followed the directions putting onions, carrots and potatoes in with the meat, water and packet. It was nice having an entire dinner ready at the end of a long day. I absolutely loved the flavor of everything, especially the juices left at the bottom I used as a gravy. My husband thought it was salty but he also isn't a fan of salt. I would definitely purchase this mix and use it again.

I love the concept of a one step seasoning mix, but I found the flavor a bit off, especially when it soaked into the potatoes that I cooked with the roast. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually keep my pot roast dinners easy peasy in the first place. But I wanted to try something a bit different. Normally, I'll use whatever dry spices I have on hand, beef broth, chuck roast, mini potatoes, and baby carrots. I kept this close to the same thing, but instead of beef broth and seasonings, I was able to whip up this packet with tap water. The flavor was good. It wasn't overwhelming and seemed to have the right proportions of each spice. When I make this again, I think I'll try to get more of the mix on the meat itself. The veggies ended up sopping up more of it than the meat and I want to even that out some. My only complaint is that I can't tritate the spices to my family's wants. Whereas when I'm coming up with my own flavors, I can add more or reduce down certain flavors that my family likes or doesn't like. But, not thinking sure is nice!!

The spices in the mix are just the right amount. It’s so easy to put some frozen carrots, and cut up onion in with the meat and water. It tastes wonderful for dinner!

This is so delicious that I can't get enough! And so simple to make too!

My wife added a packet of McCormick Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast seasoning to the pot roast she made yesterday. Big mistake! The tremendous salt content overwhelmed anything else in the packet. We won't make that mistake again.
