Q: My coconut and vanilla shampoo was pink when I bought it is it still safe to use or should I throw it away?

submitted by Jasp - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi Jasp, Thanks for reaching out to us and great question! Some Native products may undergo cosmetic changes (e.g. change in color) during storage. This is typically driven by naturally-derived ingredients in our fragrance oils, with some fragrances more likely to cause changes than others due to their ingredient compositions. These cosmetic changes do not impact product efficacy or scent, and the product will perform as expected. We hope that helps put any concerns at ease! Please let us know if you have any other questions and enjoy the rest of your day :)

Q: Hello, I just recently purchased the almond and Shea butter hair line. I noticed that the regular conditioner the hair mask have the exact same ingredients. How do they differ?

submitted by Kat - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Kat, Thanks for reaching out to us and that’s a great question! The ingredients are technically the same but included at different levels! Try Travel Size First

I will start off by saying that I usually LOVE Native products. Unfortunately, this shampoo did not work at all for me. It leaves a residue on my hair making it look and feel unwashed. If you are wanting to try this shampoo, I highly recommend trying out the travel size first. For me, the difference was immediate.

Make your hair thinner and greasy

Unfortunately this product didn’t work for me. I would wash my hair and it would left my hair covered with a source of grease that would make my hair very opaque and I also noticed that my hair is kind of thinner now. This shampoo is only for people with very dry and thick hair. I have a curly hair but thin. Coconut and Vainilla

I am in my 50s and my hair has been thinning for some time. I thought the amount of hair I was loosing was normal. As soon as I started using this shampoo it stopped falling out. I barely have a few hairs each week. Even when I brush no hair comes out. So thankfull I found this product. Thank you so much. I would love to see the option to buy in bulk to eliminate packaging.

This product made my hair fall off. I bought it in January and started to notice more hair falling than usual. Then I noticed the front of my scalp didn't have as much hair as it used to. I used to have a pimple like granito (spanish) that wouldn't go away, then native stripped it off😬.

Sorry, but this product is not good. This was virtually impossible to completely rinse out of my hair. What I was left with after my shower was a weird residue on my hair, limp, lifeless, tangled hair. My hair was oily by the same evening. Would not purchase again. Disappointed.

Desert Grass and Sandlewood Moisturizing Shampoo

This was the worst product that I ever put on my hair. I used a dime size amount, and it completely stripped my hair of all its natural oils and left it dry, thin and lifeless. It has a very strong detergent effect and no moisturizing. My scalp itched for a week afterwards. It was a total waste of money, in my opinion. I'll be tossing a full container in the trash. I wouldn't even give it 1 star, but it was my only choice.

And for awhile I did. The fragrance was nice, not overpowering, and the shampoo made my color treated hair feel and look great. Unfortunately, over time it started to irritate my skin and I had to discontinue use. I wish Native made a fragrance free shampoo and conditioner because I'd buy it. For those without sensitive skin, I'd recommend. For those with, I would not.

I had both the shampoo and conditioner and it gave me dermatitis on my scalp. I do not have a sensitive scalp and have never experienced dandruff or anything of the sort. I use this brand and now it’s been two months of dealing with the aftermath, which includes feeling itchy, scaly skin, and losing hair in the affected area.

You will lose your hair in clumps. I switched to Pantene Nutrients for now, and I quit pulling out clumps in the shower after a couple of days. I have super fine curly hair and am 23, and it thinned so much because of Native.
