What happened to this product?
This used to be a great product. I've been using it for years. But recently the last two applications have turned my hair black. I have a soft brown color naturally. It didn't cover my whites at all, and now half of my hair is black. I think I'm going to have to find another ammonia free solution.

New box dye girly
5A — First time I’ve use a box dye and I’d say the process went great. The color is great and I can’t believe the color is uniform despite having bleached highlights under also covered grays. The photos show my results in window and bathroom lighting. Grok recommended me this box dye. I’m glad I followed through!

Not true colour
The the colour is not true. I bought the medium Golden brown and it was very very dark. It’s so close to black even my hair was light brown and I wish to have a light golden brown so now I bought the 8A I hope it’s changed it and make it better. But the good thing that’s my hair is so healthy and gloaming and it’s not dry at all! confused about this brand.

This is not the experience we want you to have, nor what we would expect. Using a clarifying shampoo, followed by a deep conditioner, can sometimes help fade the unwanted color more quickly. We also suggest that you avoid using heat (e.g., blow dryers, curling irons), which can further set the color. We would not recommend applying another shade over the dark results since color cannot lift color, and it would be likely for you to end up with even more unexpected results. So, if the clarifying shampoo does not lift out enough of the color, please call to speak with one of our hair color experts! There is NOTHING Auburn about the 6R Light Auburn. It is burgundy. It has violet tones (you see them during the pause time) in it and not an inch of orange/copper in sight. The picture on the box is totally misleading, I'm not happy. I had golden natural (my hair gets paler/golden during summer) hair and I wanted a redhead natural look for autumn. This is really annoying and frustrating.

Perfect! Nice and natural.
Natural Instincts Shade = 9 Light Blonde. Covered greys. My natural colour is mousey brown and I had approx 4 inches of roots to dye. The rest is bleached. This blends in so well. Delighted. No strong smells either. Hair feels lovely and soft. I left it on for approx 25 minutes, not the 15 recommended.

This product was great for covering the grays, but I ended up with a very dark brown head of hair instead of the light brown shade on the box. Way too dark and I am not happy with the color. Will have to try a dark blonde the next time to get the results I wanted.

I bought the 6.5g colour and it's perfect! I have lots of white hair and I've been searching for a products to blend the white pieces into my natural/original colour. I don't want to deal with salon visits and root coverage every couple of weeks. This is exactly a match for my hair and I look more like myself again. I'm in my 30's, so I'm not ready for a head of white hair just yet. My natural colour is a light auburn with some golden hues. Thanks Clairol! Please don't stop making this product!

i love this dye so much! why? it’s not permanent, it smells awesome, doesn’t damage my hair, smells amazing, super easy to use and affordable. i have used this several times and love love it. it does leave more red in my hair than expected but my hair always leans red so maybe it’s my hair and not the dye. highly recommend!
