This works. It's messy and weird and feels like art class but if you follow the directions and are careful, it works. After 3 uses the annoying orange tone left from the awful "stylist" is almost gone. I purchased the brunette highlight conditioner to go along with this. Significant change in 1-3 days. I don't think I'll need to use it after a week anymore.

I guess I am one of the few people who loves that the shampoo is blue and washes off this blue residue that I enjoy seeing!! I actually enjoy using this shampoo because I know if it’s completely out of my hair or not- easy! If the water is still blue, I need to keep washing it off- if the water is clear- I’m done shampooing!! Also love the smell of this product! :)

It turned my orangey brass into blondish brown for my highlights after 2-3 uses. Use this on dry hair with gloves on. It works much better on dry hair.

My hair has always been bleach blonde with little black stripes on the underside, decided to Color Oops the black out earlier today, it lifted BRIGHT NEON orange. Reverted to this shampoo and figured it would suck because their purple shampoo doesn’t do anything for yellow tones in my experience, I was mistaken. I lathered it up thick and left it for 15 minutes, washed it out. The orange went back to blonde! Yay! However, this shampoo is so pigmented it left light blue tones all over my blonde which was to be expected, and I can totally live with that. For a few bucks, this is beyond worth it!

The Brilliant Brunette Blue Crush Shampoo worked really well on my hair, it had a very deep blue tone which helped to remove the unwanted orange tones and it smells AMAZING! I found my brunette to be more vibrant and always looked refreshed even without visiting the salon. I really liked the fact that it can be used on both natural and coloured hair which makes it good for any brunette. The blue did tend to stain my hands temporarily, but as soon as I washed them with soap it came right off. Most definitely recommend for any brunette and will be purchasing this product again as needed.

Okay this stuff is amazing! I decided to try to bleach a thick streak in my hair and it helped out so much! I saw the biggest difference after the second use. I definitely made sure I used the product in a stainless steel sink, hair coloring brush to be precise on where I put the product and also kitchen gloves. I am so happy with the results!!!! Hoping maybe it will keep getting more of the brassy color out but it’s almost non-existent now! Left pic is what it looks like now, far right is what I started at, middle one is after one wash.

The first time I used this I saw results right after blow drying. I used this on my daughters virgin light brown hair and it turned it ashy after only 1 use. It’s very pigmented which stains hands when applying to hair. The smell is very pleasant for something so strong. I love how this neutralizes my brown tones. And the price is awesome!

I pair it with the conditioner and it really works!! After I color my hair and it's too reddish, it makes it more brown. Don't let the color scare you, it doe not dye your skin. Do rinse off of shower walls or it will dye that! But comes off with cleaning bleach.

It definitely toned down the brass/ orange I had from my balayage. I would say to wear gloves when you apply this because it can leave your hands blue. It’s super pigmented and might even leave your tub blue as well, but just rinse right away. It smells super good too!

I was very skeptical to try this product because John Frieda was behind the Brilliant Brunette line that literally did nothing for my brown, highlighted hair. Surprised that the directions says to leave the product in for only 2-3 mins. I am using this product after emptying my dpHUE Cool Brunette Shampoo, which had instructions of leaving it your hair from 3-20 mins. I'm SHOCKED that after one wash, it reduced almost 50% of the orange tone in my highlights! Granted it was only after 1 use and left in for only 2 mins. The product does lather and I wore gloves, so the staining of the shower didn't really happen for me. Some product ended up on my shoulders and it washed off just fine. Overall, I'm pleased to help tone down the orange tones. It worked for me and I plan on using it 1-2 times a week.

Be careful bc this will stain your nail cuticles so wear gloves. But this helped my hot roots soooo much. My freshly dyed hair always leans brassy and purple shampoo does nothing for that. I generously applied this to my hot roots and let it sit 5-10 mins before getting in the shower and washing root-ends with this shampoo. It evened out my hair color so much.

I can’t tell if it really worked or not but I do see a slight difference. I only used it in one wash but I applied and rinsed it more than once. It did “stain” my hands but it came out the same day and finished washing my hair so no biggie.

First time using- left it in 2-3 mins and there was no difference. Second time- left it in a good 5 mins and it turn my highlights a light green! It didn't wash out even after a clarifying shampoo at the salon. You get what you pay for. Spend more money on a quality salon product like a color renewal mask that acts like a toner to cool down brassy tones.
