There are a number of myths surrounding the impact of gluten in personal care vs. food. According to the Mayo Clinic, shampoos and conditioners that contain gluten would need to be swallowed or come into contact with an open wound for someone with Celiac disease to react. This is even true for different types of dermatitis that can arise from Celiac, but still it is required that the gluten be ingested vs. topically applied (with the exception of things like lipstick where you'd easily ingest product or application on or near a wound).
