Q: How long are the slots?

A: These slots measure exactly 5-3/8" long. I asked this question also and was told 5" to 5.5" (lol). Also the length of the entire toaster is max no more than 11", not 12.2"

This is a plastic toaster and is of very poor quality. The plastic gets very hot and smells like it’s melting. The unit I first purchased didn’t work out of the box. The lever wouldn’t stay down so the unit wouldn’t toast. Not recommended.

Regarding the lever not staying down, this issue often points to one of the following: Power Supply Check The toaster lever will only stay down if the appliance is properly connected to a working power outlet. Please ensure the toaster is plugged in securely. The outlet is functionally testing it with another device. You are not using a power strip or extension cord that may limit voltage. The Toasting Cycle Will Not Start Without Bread Some Oster® toasters are designed so that the lever will not latch unless there is bread (or another item) inside the slot. Try placing a slice of bread into the slot before pressing the lever down. Crumb Tray or Internal Blockage Sometimes, the crumb tray or internal safety mechanism can prevent proper operation: Ensure the crumb tray is inserted correctly and lies flat. Turn the toaster upside down and gently shake out any debris that may have shifted during shipping. If you've checked all of the above and the lever still won't stay down or the toaster still doesn’t function, your unit may have a manufacturing defect. Nice basic toaster that works

This toaster first arrived with damaged product from Oster and it was replaced quickly with another. It does toast darker on one side than the other, but honestly I do not care. It's toast. The inside located heating elements of each slot seem to run hotter, and darker. As regards comments of it being difficult to put the handle down, it might be a little harder than others, but if you firmly push it to the bottom when plugged in, it clicks and light comes on. I like the bagel setting even for English muffins. The slots are 5-3/8" in length exactly. The toaster length is just about 11-3/16" including knobs. The crumb tray completely removes, which was a must have for me. The plastic smell others have mentioned will disappear if you run it thru 2 cycles empty on 7.

Purchased this toaster recently at a local Target Store. The toaster was inexpensive and works ok. Biggest issue is that it does not toast bread evenly - but that seems to be an issue with most toasters.

Do not purchase , it doesnt toast evenly as you can see even tho it was at the lowest. Burnt the bread from the bottom and it sparked as it was doing so.

With 7 shade settings (browning control), you can customize to your favorite “toastiness” and its wide slots fit even the thickest breads or bagels! The high lift levers raises up high enough for the easiest removal without getting stuck or burning fingers and the crumb tray is able to be removed for easy cleaning. My favorite feature of this toaster, though, is the reheat option that is a 30-second toasting cycle to reheat your toasted foods without making them soggy, like they can get being reheated in the microwave. Great brand and great quality product for sure!
