Philips Norelco Head Pro Shaver 5000 Electric Shaver

I bought this head shaver because I totally trust Philips products and it hasn't let me down. It really does shave nearly as close as a blade providing you clean it after each use and use it every day. The run life is really good and the charging time is great. The only thing I would say this shaver needs is a battery percentage indicator instead of just an indicator light when it needs charging. Good product for not really a great deal of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love everything about the Head Shaver 9000 from how it's easy to grip handle sits in your hand to well the blades give me a super clean cut. In a pinch it works well for a face shave as well. The blades hold up for months on end before needing replacement.

Good piece of kit gives you a real close shave. Replacement blades very expensive hence 1 star deducted.

This is a terrible head shaver. Its big, bulky and slow. I bought this to replace a Remington rx7 that started having issues and have been using it for the last 8 months or so. I was happy to see this has the same plug as my Philips beard trimmer but that was where the happiness ended. This shaver is so painfully slow, and if you happen to miss a day of shaving it takes even longer. I shave in the shower and my hot water bills increased significantly after getting this shaver due to how long it takes! Yesterday i bought a Remington xr8000 and just had my first head shave after a few nights away and it feels a closer shave and it was much much faster than anything this Philips had produced since owning it. The Remington was so good it compelled me to write this review and throw away the Philips after only 8 months of use. To top it off the Remington will now replace my beard trimmer as well as it comes with a very usable beard trimmer attachment including different size and adjustable combs (and the most useful of my Philips ones broke!). Don't buy this head shaver. If you've had a Remington before, this will leave you frustrated and out of pocket. If you've always used Philips, give a Remington a shot and you will not be disappointed

I feel that these shavers could use 2 more rotating heads instead of only having 4. There is a gap between the 4 rotating heads where 2 more could easily fit. I find myself having to go over areas when shaving my head more than what I would have to if 6 heads were installed . I have always been a customer oh Philips and would like to see them advance this product .

Easy to use. Sadly you'll need a small straight shaver to get contours that this shaver can't access to cut. Only down side. Cuts hair shorter then 3mm, with nice smooth finish

I use the head shaver in the shower which results in a really close shave. I only shave my head so the battery is lasting ages and the cutters will not need changing for three years!

I purchased this as a replacement for another well known brand which I had trouble sourcing new heads for. The 5000 model was not much more expensive than a new head for my old shaver would have cost. The Phillips performed easily as well as my old model but with the benefit of far less skin irritation. My only regret is not having spent a little more on the 7000 model , as it comes with a nice storage bag and has a longer run time (the 5000 bag is pretty useless). Overall I would definitely recommend the Phillips Head Shaver Pro series.

Far exceeded my expectations. Comfortable grip, well balanced, easy to clean and gives a nice clean shave. Also, the battery lasts for many shaves before requiring a recharge.

The best head shaver I have used in my bald journey. This thing was made for it. There is a bit of a learning curve as to when you're done as it can feel like it is still cutting, and it doesn't get it as close to the wood as a bare razor. That said, for the convenience and the time saved, and being able to get it done in a five minute buzz a day while the coffee is brewing, it's well worth it. Very happy with this purchase.

I was honestly really impressed with the Philips Norelco Head Pro Shaver 5000. I’ve tried different ways of keeping my head shaved, and what I like most about this shaver is how much easier and less frustrating it makes the whole process. It feels like Philips actually designed this specifically with head shaving in mind instead of simply adapting a regular electric razor. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it is to hold and maneuver. The 360° flexing head does a great job following the curves of the scalp, which makes getting around the back, sides, and top of the head much easier. I don’t feel like I have to constantly fight with the shaver or keep repositioning it to get the blades to make contact. The grip is also comfortable and doesn't feel slippery, which is especially helpful when using it with wet hands. The shaving performance has been one of my favorite features. The 36 ComfortCut blades provide a close, even shave without the uncomfortable pulling or tugging I’ve experienced with some other electric shavers. I also really like the fact that it doesn't require me to repeatedly go over the same area. The PowerAdapt Sensor adjusts to hair density, which helps the shaver maintain consistent performance as you move across different areas of the head. Philips says the sensor reads hair density 250 times per second, which helps explain why the performance feels so consistent. Another huge plus is that it can be used wet or dry. If I’m in a hurry, I can use it dry and be done quickly. If I want a more comfortable shaving experience, I can use it with water or shaving foam. Being able to use it in the shower is especially convenient, and the IPX7 water resistance makes cleaning it afterward incredibly easy. I can simply rinse it under water instead of spending forever trying to remove little hairs from the shaving head. The battery life is also excellent. A one-hour charge gives up to 60 minutes of cordless shaving time, which is more than enough for multiple uses. I especially appreciate the five-minute quick-charge feature because there’s nothing worse than realizing your shaver is dead when you’re already running late. A quick charge can provide enough power for a full shave. I also really like the hair collection system. Head shaving can make a huge mess when you're using clippers or a traditional razor, so anything that helps keep the hair contained is a major improvement. Cleanup is quick, and the included travel pouch and travel lock make it easy to take the shaver with you without worrying about it turning on accidentally inside a bag. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that an electric shaver isn't necessarily going to give you the exact same completely smooth, skin-level finish as a traditional razor. If you want your head to feel absolutely glass-smooth, you may still prefer to finish with a manual razor. However, for everyday shaving, I think the convenience and comfort of this shaver more than make up for that small difference. I also think the price is reasonable for what you're getting. Have tried a few this year, decided to spend a little more after the others fell apart when trying to clean. Easy to clean, battery lasts about 10 days after using it everyday, quick to charge. Premium travel case. Nice bit of kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great razor for bald heads. Leaves a little to be desired for the face. Only needs a little shave cream. I would not use it dry personally. I was forced to buy an electric razor due to cancer diagnosis. I’ve been a life long manual razor user but now a manual razor causes too much irritation. This razor in wet mode fixes that. Hard to get around my goatee. I still need a razor or trimmer for accuracy. With my hair growth a fresh shave with this razor is equal to 12 hours after using a manual razor. Its not quite as close of a shave but definitely acceptable.

I was in need of a new shaver for my head and after reading comparisons of the various head shavers and reviews of the Philips head shaver I decided to give it a try. After a month of twice a week use I am very happy with my purchase of the Philips 9000 head shaver. It takes me a similar amount of time as my previous shaver but is much less irritating on my scalp. I wasn’t sure I would like the shave as as much as I liked the length my old shaver left my hair, but I have gotten used to the shorter shave and now shave twice a week (rather than once a week) to keep it shorter. The shaver fits comfortably in my hand whether holding the base or behind the clipper head and it’s easy to reach all areas of my head and keep the shaver in contact with my scalp. The clean up is a breeze under running water. Charging is quick and the indicator lets me know when to plug into recharge. Got a good deal on Prime Day that made it worth buying the 9000. All in all very happy with my purchase.
