    Almost Perfect, Unlike My Skull

    This thing does a good job of turning my head from “recently escaped from the wilderness” to “freshly polished supervillain.” It gets surprisingly close, feels comfortable, and doesn’t leave my scalp looking like I lost a knife fight with a weed eater. Battery life is solid, cleanup is easy, and it handles a couple days of growth without summoning the spirit of razor burn. I knocked off one star because there are still a few spots where I have to go back over it multiple times like I’m trying to erase evidence.

    Great wet razor. Can use in shower.

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great razor for bald heads. Leaves a little to be desired for the face. Only needs a little shave cream. I would not use it dry personally. I was forced to buy an electric razor due to cancer diagnosis. I’ve been a life long manual razor user but now a manual razor causes too much irritation. This razor in wet mode fixes that. Hard to get around my goatee. I still need a razor or trimmer for accuracy. With my hair growth a fresh shave with this razor is equal to 12 hours after using a manual razor. Its not quite as close of a shave but definitely acceptable.

    Glad I made the switch

    I was in need of a new shaver for my head and after reading comparisons of the various head shavers and reviews of the Philips head shaver I decided to give it a try. After a month of twice a week use I am very happy with my purchase of the Philips 9000 head shaver. It takes me a similar amount of time as my previous shaver but is much less irritating on my scalp. I wasn’t sure I would like the shave as as much as I liked the length my old shaver left my hair, but I have gotten used to the shorter shave and now shave twice a week (rather than once a week) to keep it shorter. The shaver fits comfortably in my hand whether holding the base or behind the clipper head and it’s easy to reach all areas of my head and keep the shaver in contact with my scalp. The clean up is a breeze under running water. Charging is quick and the indicator lets me know when to plug into recharge. Got a good deal on Prime Day that made it worth buying the 9000. All in all very happy with my purchase.

    Great all round performance

    I have used cheaper head shavers and I must admit that was false economy, the Philips head shaver is the best I have used , it gives a nice clen shave , the travel case is perfect , I took this on a motorcycle touring holiday and it stayed safe. it is easy to clean and charges quickly. the added bonus is the spare heads you get in the box. the unit is weighted just right . I love it

    Mostly Very Good

    I'm generally very impressed with the build quality, it's as I expected from Philips at this price range. The cut is very good, consistent and comfortable. Not cuts or NICs on my scalp. However, when removing the head to clean, if I hold it upsidedown, all of the blades and blade covers fall out into the bin. I really don't expect this to happen, they should stay in place to allow brushing and a light tapping to remove hair before rinsing. After picking out the blades and blade covers from the bin a few times I have stopped doing this but I stress, I should be able to. I was able to do this with a former Remington. To finish on a positive, the battery life is superb, the washing station/bath is useful and the extra blades with the packaging are very welcome.
